what'd he do? tax cuts?

I'm not going to start on Obama. Actually, my point was not even to compare Trump's term with Obama's, economically speaking.
Trump was and still is a better choice for America than any of the socialist lefties trying to ruin her.I know, I know, he could have handled the national debt much better; I get that. But, he has still done well in economics such as drastically lowering unemployment rate, producing millions of jobs, etc....

Now, Aside from economics, Trump has demonstrated his concern for America's security with his wall building initiative, rebuilding national defence, detering terrorism, etc. He protects and honours the constitution and understands it is preserving America's liberty and freedom; Thank goodness he does! He is anti-abortion and fights against the killing of unborn babies(yes, BABIES, as in human beings with rights like you and me!)......
I can go on and on about all he's done, but listen; when I mentioned the "prosperity of our nation", I was referring to more than his mere economic doings( which are important, of course, and are still thriving)...I was referring to the stands he takes to preserve our country's freedom. Because the fate of the nation depends on its liberties being upheld. That's why I support him throughout....and will continue to. (Notice my icon )

"I'm not going to start on Obama. Actually, my point was not even to compare Trump's term with Obama's, economically speaking"

once you exclude ending the afghanistan war, they're basically the same

"Trump was and still is a better choice for America than any of the socialist lefties trying to ruin her"

stein. sanders. ya know.. people with actual radical and populist ideas instead of false populism. all trump had to do was not be hillary. his winning is his clutch because he stated that what he wanted to be remembered for was "victory". i mean... that's the bare minimum of being president.

"Trump has demonstrated his concern for America's security with his wall building initiative, rebuilding national defence, detering terrorism, etc"

the best part is when the wall was built. it looks like giant metal picket fence that a skinny immigrant could fit through. as for detering terrorism, well it's safe to say that he's hunted down more terrorists //and more innocent civilians// than obama. good, bad, ugly. good because we've actually been killing bad guys, bad because we shouldn't have been in the middle east ever, ugly because of civilian drone strikes.

"He protects and honours the constitution and understands it is preserving America's liberty and freedom; Thank goodness he does!"

*laughs in executive irresponsibility* no president has done that since woodrow wilson was in power.

"He is anti-abortion and fights against the killing of unborn babies"

when he could be focusing on bigger issues instead of peoples' feewings

"I can go on and on about all he's done, but listen; when I mentioned the "prosperity of our nation", I was referring to more than his mere economic doings( which are important, of course, and are still thriving)

Especially loved when any of this helped fight national poverty. There are still loads of people without jobs, loads of people without healthcare, loads of people who live paycheck to paycheck on food, loads of people without houses, loads of people who can't go to work because they don't have a car, etc. What you've done is repeated things i've heard for the past 3 years. Views about Trump that change the values of his supporters with every action he takes. Only recently did conservatives support UBI when Trump utilized it to help America recover from the current shutdown. For a while, Andrew Yang, who encouraged UBI, was mocked by conservatives until Trump decided it was a good idea. to be continued...

Trump's not the worst president the U.S. has had. But he's far from the best. While he's not Buchanan, Wilson, or Hoover; we must remember that he's not Lincoln, JFK, or either of the Roosevelts. He's honestly overhyped with the left always going on about how bad he is while the right always goes on about how great he is, even though at the end of the day, they're just throwing shit at each other to see what sticks.

I don't recall Buchanan, Wilson, or Hoover trying to overthrow the government and install themselves as dictators.

this comment of mine is 8 months old. i tried to give trump a chance between the years of 2018 and mid-2020. my stance to back him after all changed when i learned about his outpacing of obama in drone strike numbers

Can you post a link to a source with details about the rights of fetuses (obviously not somewhere right-leaning)?

I can't find anything.

Can you provide me absolute definite proof a fetus isn't a human? Scientists have speculation, but it is uncertain.

We believe what the Bible says about the sanctity of life. Just to quote one verse," I was cast upon thee from the womb; thou art my God from my mother's belly"....

We believe life starts at conception....

What?
A fetus is human, what made you think it wasn't?

People aren't pregnant with aliens.

Not just 'human', but do you believe it's an actual person?
0 ups, 4y
Of course it's human. Do you think people can give birth to cats? It's not any more of a person than a removed gallbladder, but both are certainly human.

'Can you provide me absolute definite proof a fetus isn't a human? Scientists have speculation, but it is uncertain.'

No, I haven't at any point claimed that that's the case?

Why did you think I thought that?

Oh wait, you were deciding what I believe and then arguing with it and asking me to provide evidence of a something I haven't claimed.

Are you an only child?

Did you spend a lot of time having tea parties with toys?
0 ups, 5y,

Listen, I was definitely getting ahead of things. I didn't mean for it to sound like I was deciding what you believe. The last thing I wanna do is make myself look that way......

So as I was saying, do you believe an unborn fetus is a human being? Not just "human", but a person like you and me....
1 up, 5y
A fetus is human, but not a person.

Maybe you haven't been paying attention, but the entire globe is shut down due to a pandemic. Governors in almost all 50 states have shut down their economies, and somehow a jackass like yourself thinks Trump did it. Did you ever ask how we were going to pay for Obama's debt? tfoh

If you took every dime of the rich, it would only run this show for a few weeks. Then you would no longer have them to tax, and you still wouldn't have paid the debt. Then what?
5 ups, 5y,
1 reply
Yes, if you took the rich for every dime they had then they would not be able to generate enough tax money over the course of a decade or so to bring the debt down to acceptable levels. Surely taxing them very little or not at all failed to achieve the desired results. Reagan understood this when it was his policy (and it failed) and he rightfully course corrected. Our current Republican party cannot seem to learn from their mistakes because all they see for themselves is $.$

If you tax the rich it goes like this Rich->Businesses->Prices->Consumers. In other words no matter where a tax originates, consumers are the ones that pay it in the end.
2 ups, 5y,
1 reply
That is going to happen either way. One way continues the divide and increases the debt exponentially, the other doesn't. Yes, prices will go up. They will no matter what, that is the price of capitalism.
0 ups, 5y,
1 reply
Ah no. That's the price of government interference in capitalism. It's known as crony capitalism. When the government favors some businesses over others or regulates businesses. If businesses were allowed to stay open or close on their own, then this would never have happened.

We're not talking about the covid lockdown. We're talking about the tried and failed trickle down economics. You can try to excuse that business will leave without tax incentives but that only takes you so far. Eventually, it always leads to some kind of recession. The longest periods where we went without a recession was when we weren't giving tax cuts to the rich. Is Donald Trump responsible for the coming recession? Not exactly. But it's collapse was inevitable with or without a Covid-19 outbreak according to historical economic records.
0 ups, 5y
You need to check your facts. When we gave tax cuts to everyone including the rich, the following years after they went into effect, the economy expanded. You gotta remember taxes don't go into effect until the following year after being passed.

Hence the phrase"nobody agrees with everything he's done" that I included. I certainly am not a fan of his debt either and I know it won't be easy to pay off (it never is). I take the good out of his election and there's plenty in my opinion.
2 ups, 5y,

.....that being said, I do hope Trump is willing to change is relatively cavalier attitude towards debt, as it is a problem.
2 ups, 5y
Trump has no capacity to change. He's enacting the same business strategies as he did in politics. And, while you might think him successful businessman, he rode into success by taking no responsibility for his losses, leaving other people holding the reigns while his investments crash and burn. I would rather he not do that to our country.
