I don’t see Fox News in there...are they not national? Or are they not media?

Should it be added too???

They’ve got higher viewership than anyone on that list, so if you don’t include them either 1) you’re labeling them as entertainment rather than news, or 2) what you really meant by “national media” was “liberal and centrist media.”

All media is manipulation through entertainment… do the rich and powerful conspire to stay rich and powerful?

Fox isn't on the list because they report the news, and then offer their opinion.
The others offer their opinion as the news.
If you can't tell the difference, then you're probably a Leftist.

Yes. A Leftist is a Socialist who pretends NOT to be a Communist

Where would you suggest we go for accurate, unbiased news?

Matter of fact: Where do you go for accurate, unbiased news now?

ThNk you for the text book “Straw Man Fallacy”. I know, you know… we all know there is no such thing as un biased “news“. However, I will answer your question. If you understand 5 billon years of Laws of Nature and 400,000 years of Human Nature… then finally 50,000 Years Of Natural Law. You will come to the conclusion that all we really have is … Time, Energy and Money AND someone is always trying to take them. And we are all trying to take from others, Too… Don’t be a sucker!!!

I mean, yeah cool, but that's a deflection rather than an actual answer. Let's take out "unbiased"...where do you go for accurate news of what's happening in the world? Assuming you're a US citizen or care about US politics, what outlets did you watch/read when Trump was elected? When the Boston Marathon was bombed? When Obamacare was enacted? When the towers fell? You found out somehow, and when you did I'm fairly certain you wanted to know more. Where did you go? Where do you go to learn about the pandemic?

As a matter of fact, there is such a thing as “unbiased” (or comparatively unbiased) news sources, and they’re clustered at the top-center of this chart.

I am sure that some here would disagree. And admittedly, attempting to study a topic such as “media bias” is an inherently subjective exercise, obviously.

But this is the best chart of its kind I’ve seen on the entire internet.

At the end of the day, the best protection from media bias is to be a smart media consumer. Be knowledgable and read widely.

The solution is not to shut down the media simply because we believe they’re biased or don’t like the information they are reporting.

If anyone has a better idea, let me know.

Media bias is irrelevant when over 90% of the news comes from just 3 news agencies, and news channels just pretend to be reporting when they are just rehashing what they got off the wire, including for "reporters on the scene".

The underlying data being made public and subject to scrutiny, the question of whether this chart was produced using conclusions from a rigorous, robust process cannot be definitively answered. AND who gives funds/consideration to “Ad Fontes Media” and any of their employers and Anyone the employees know ??? ?. who is and who is “Vanessa Otero” … the founder … where does she get funding/consideration and anyone she knows get funding/consideration her or anyone she knows Follow the money …. And get back to me.

If you want to go down all those rabbit holes yourself, be my guest. I ain’t gonna do it for you.

Just be consistent and apply the same rigorous vetting to every single source you read.

That’s funny. You brought up that alleged “STUDY“. Critical thinking would dictate that since you want to use it you can explain it …Where the money and consideration comes from to publish the study . But since you can’t… nor feel responsible to do your own research. I’m quite disappointed in you actions. But that’s ok. I’ll get over it. After all is said and done you have proven that sheep I mean Most people believe Anything an alleged authority figure spouts off, then those same sheeple repeat the same misinformation over and over. The bottom line is you have proven my point. That the media is just a cluster of lies, innuendos , misinformation and omission of details AND distortion!!! Yes, we would all be better off if the media was turned off for 30 days.

Look man: at the end of the day, we all have to get our news from somewhere, or else we’ll be ignorant and uninformed.

I’ve discussed some of the problems inherent in sorting through bias in news and suggested that reading broadly and exercising ones own judgment is the solution.

You don’t have to like each and every one of those sources I circled above.

But sources like Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, Reason, The Hill, and the New York Post should be good enough for folks right-of-center.

Heck, I cite these sources pretty frequently myself when I find them useful and in the hopes they’ll carry additional weight with conservatives on this site.

But if you’re getting your news exclusively from Breitbart or certainly InfoWars or another fringe outlet, I think that’s a problem.

I’d say the same for the Leftist fringe outlets.

At the end of day. You still have not shared A. What u consider fair accurate and unbiased news. B. Who funds “Ad Fontes Media” Or the person that came up, with that study.… A study you brought up. Or any other study you would bring up… C. Or even state that the ALL media is filled with Outright lies, obfuscations, manipulation, omission and perverted half truths. Another word pure propaganda. And the only intention of all media is NOT to inform… it is to influence opinion and create outcomes. There are no benevolent masters only psychopaths with smiles.

I get my news from NPR, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, Breitbart, Banned.video, drudge report, etc etc... if you watch then all, you get a pretty good idea of what's going on. Basically you just reverse whatever CNN says and it ends up true.
0 ups, 5y
CNN and MSNBC reverse Their words to get the truth. Lol. I agree to all plus add CNBC n Bloomberg Business and Gateway Pundit! Most important I check IMGFLIP.COM multiple times a day for the truth of the truths!!!!

"I get my news from NPR, CNN...

lol

No that is not really how it works, CNN is usually accurate though a little dull. I don't watch television news at all except occasionally Reuters' daily 10-30 minute summaries which are usually good.

Prove they are unbiased … Who owns them and how do they what to shape society …. U still Have not stated what News / media you consume.

I read news and opinion pieces from everywhere, as far left as MSNBC and as far right as Fox News. I don't really stray into the fringes past that, though.

I don't really favor any one source or another honestly. But some of the ones I most-frequently encounter are The Economist, Business Insider, the New York Times, Reuters, Politico, BBC, and The Hill.
