Once sperm joins egg, and DNA fuses to become it's own unique code, an individual cell (zygote) becomes two. Two becomes four. Four becomes eight. That cell division happens independently of the mother it is attached to, she does not cause that to happen, only nourishes and protects the process. I'd call that individual human life. So, I'm on the conception wagon myself.

Good point, since it is replicating at the time it is only stuck to the wall of the uterus. It is growing on it's own at that point without any outside assistance.

Just like a rose, stuck in the soil. Were it not for the nutrients in the soils, the sunlight, and the rain that nourishes it, it would not survive, but that doesnt make it not a rose. I believe the same about human life.

technically speaking a Sperm is Life, You need to ask the question, When does "Intelligent" Life begin?

In some ways during the time the mother was a fetus herself, since that is when all egg cells are being made (and a woman never makes new ones after she's born), and the eggs are alive at that point. And a sperm cell is also a life form on its own, so two lives merge into one, or so they say....
