Who? And honestly I don't think it's important whether or not there was an imminent threat.. the hundreds of Americans he's killed in the past is more than enough justification for me, especially now that it's clear there was no real repercussion for the strike.

But when WWIII almost broke out after an unauthorized assassination of a top foreign official, unprecedented in U.S. history? Yeah. We — and many Republicans by the way — criticized him big time. (While other Republicans renewed their calls for war with Iran as they have for decades.)

The tremendously mixed public reaction to this assassination is probably part of the reason Trump backed down.

I do think her record as U.S. Senator and then SoS shows she had her finger on the trigger way too often.

Definitely a factor in why she lost the Dem primaries in '08, a reason why Sanders ran so unexpectedly strongly against her in '16, and probably also why a lot of independents and even Democrats went for Trump in the '16 general election.
