It's more cost effective in the short term to end people's lives than to treat them. I also suspect something is done with their organs. I don't recognize my country anymore.
My sister's leukemia was successfully treated in Canada. The same treatment in the US would have cost 200-300k WITH insurance. This was over 20 years ago. She is cancer free to this day.
