I'm not a bleeding-heart liberal on immigration. We need borders and border enforcement. That said, it's not so important that we need to spend a virtually unlimited amount of money on it.

And now that lazy countryman wasted a bunch of money getting his degree in gender studies after a good Berkeley education, and now has nothing to do with that major? People have to fend for themselves, they can't depend on people's success so they can get money. If you want to have a successful life, then carve it out by yourself, don't depend on others to give you what you want.

The end result from all this redistribution of wealth is nothing more than de-motivating individuals to better themselves and from succeeding.

I can tell you from my personal experience, that success ain't so dayum easy! You've got to want it, and you've got to work your butt off to get it. In my case, I work at least 65 to 70 hours per week running a business with my wife, and working a full time job. Now, I'm up to 80+ hours per week because I'm studying so I can start a third job. And these aren't low paying jobs either. These take hard work and dedication in order to succeed. Good grief, I live in Taxifornia, and it ain't cheap out here!

So, why should one penny of what I've earned go to someone who wants to sit around all day?

Yes, I want my tax dollars to go to helping people. Helping them up, so they too can participate in the American dream. But I don't want my hard earned tax dollars giving them a hand out that does them no good in terms of improving their situation. And from my perspective, that's all you redistributors of wealth want to do.

So you're saying the hard working people of the country should pay for everything our crazy politicians want to buy?

Try telling the people who spend all the citizens' tax money, to not spend more than they take in.

That would be a start. That would keep us from going over the cliff that your ilk seems to want to spend us into going over.

To address your specific drivel, most of the people you've described as being at the top, did not inherit that money, they EARNED it. Just because you want to take take it from them and give it to others who didn't work as hard, instead of letting them re-invest it into the US economy, does not mean you're right, or that you care more about those who are not at the top.

You honestly think it is only the left with their own pet projects? Laughable.

The right spends just as much and right now they are proving they can spend more!

I just love how the snowflakes on the right are so offended by my comments they feel the need to downvote to hide it from their delicate eyes.

Show me concrete proof where the right is spending more than the left. Snowflakes, it's funny how that just came out of a libtards lips, have you seen any leftist temper tantrums.

You f**king people are so dumb. You think you own the term snowflake when it was a term well before ever being used by the right.

Concrete proof?
Obama's last year in office deficit, 400billion.
Trump's current year deficit, 1Trillion.

This just in: States struggling with the highest credit card debt?
Nearly all of them in Trump's south.

https://www.yahoo.com/money/states-struggling-with-highest-credit-card-debt-trumps-south-155836895.html

17 of the 25 states with the least credit card debt, voted blue.

Show me concrete proof.

Too funny.

That's the kind of comeback I expected. No counter to facts because there is none.

I'm surprised your diversion didn't include typical right go to's, Hillary, Benghazi, birth certificates or the Ukraine.

Here is concrete proof, Trump lowered income tax rates, the top rate falls from 39.6% to 37%, while the 33% bracket falls to 32%, the 28% bracket to 24%, the 25% bracket to 22%, and the 15% bracket to 12%. Your turn, all I was showing is how you went from 20 to 100 and when I asked you for facts. This was a civilized debate and then you said "You f**king people are so dumb", I was just pointing out how you libtards rage. But there are your facts.

I know of no paper stating we'd be under water in the year 2000.

Your comments regarding the UN and China are accurate. Too bad we currently have a President without the foresight to tackle the China problem with international friends squeezing them from all sides but that's never going to happen. He's too busy making sure he has the biggest salt and pepper shakers and shoving his way to the front of photo op's.

China has 3 times the population of the US and only recently surpassed us in emissions. They SHOULD be the greatest producer.

They will produce much, much more before they turn the corner and begin to reduce.

That doesn't mean we should throw our hands up in the air and just give up.
0 ups, 5y
No matter how much the US does, global emissions won't change, they will just cost the US trillions and this stupid project will cost an estimated $600,000 per family. These taxes you have been complaining of will be nothing compared to the amount of money you will have to give to the government for this actually happen and nothing will change.
https://www.heritage.org/environment/commentary/the-green-new-deal-would-cost-trillions-and-make-not-dimes-worth-difference
The key takeaway is that even if the U.S. could cut its carbon dioxide emissions by 100 percent, it would not make a discernible difference in global warming. This project would cost trillions and make everyone economically challenged.

What does the tax rate have to do with how much he's spending? Nothing.

Other than the obvious greater shortfall it is producing, which makes his spending a bigger problem.

You're telling me you like getting benefits like roads, bridges, infrastructure, military, but don't want to pay for them. Yeah, that's something to hang your hat on.
1 up, 5y
Oh, I like those benefits, I don't like how you leftists screech about spending $51–$93 trillion over the next decade. They estimate its potential cost at $600,000 per household for a freaking green new deal that won't even work. You leftists are the ones who waste all of America's money
1 up, 5y
Please, climate change is a big joke, people estimated that the world would be underwater in 2000, it is already 2019 and we aren't underwater. If you want to make a big change, tell the UN to complain to China who is the worlds number 1 producer of fossil fuels. Oh wait, I forgot, the UN is a big joke and no country will actually listen to what these people have to say unless it benefits their country. So China isn't going to change and neither will your so called "global warming". Why do you care so much, I hear you leftists screaming "love is love", "if it's not your body it's not your decision", so this won't affect you, so why do you care

Right now, there are twice as many people working in solar energy alone than in coal, oil and gas combined but by all means, scream from the rafters how we need to go back in time and stick with fossil fuels as the rest of the planet takes our leadership away.

Then, we can spend 10-1 on regenerating our coastlines, our world, after we've wreaked it.

I've voted for both Dems and Republicans in the past. As long as the Republicans cannot admit to climate change and working toward being a leader at fixing the problem, I will not be voting for them again. The rest of policy means very little against having a world where people can live.

Is it greed when someone wants to steal something from someone else, but lacks the courage to steal it directly, so they use the government to provide the force while soothing their own conscience?
