Clever little troll, there. While I don’t want to think of how much money was wasted setting up a fake motorcade, I do appreciate the surprise visit to the troops.

I don't keep up with the movement of this or former presidents, but I would not doubt that subterfuge in fake motorcades going opposite directions for the news to follow is a commonly used tactic by the Secret Service to cover the president's movements (especially if the president is planning a surprise visit somewhere.)

I could see that. More likely in high alert situations though.

Probably a couple hundred bucks for gas money. All the equipment and personnel are already paid for and salaried on an annual budget. But an unscheduled trip from the USA to Afghanistan would cost much more, but the important thing is that you appreciate it.

In my 30 years Democrats sent us to shit holes quite often so that is a valid attempt but it is hypocritical at best. They all send us to fight wars we most likely should not be fighting with the exception of the World wars of course. They were necessary. The rest? Not so much.
