Well that's a wildly misleading headline. Also, did you just read the article (which was published by a biased source), or did you actually look at the poll itself (https://www.victimsofcommunism.org/2019-annual-poll)? In addition to the questions themselves not allowing for middle ground between extremes, the methodology is unclear and highly questionable.
Communism and socialism are not the same thing.
And yeah. Millennials are more inclined towards socialist ideals than older generations. Welcome to how literally every generation gap has been for decades. I remember Boomers and the Silent Gen being super worried that Gen X was doing the same thing, and Boomers themselves are the hippie generation, which freaked everyone out.
You can't blame them for looking elsewhere for options - the Boomers aren't retiring like they should be at this point, Gen X is buried in student loan debt and can't get ahead (so they probably won't retire when they should either), and Millennials are stuck in a gig economy with absolutely no security because there aren't any jobs left for them.
You want a war, fine, whatever. The Millennials are the hackers, who can shut down the power grid, communications, vehicles, pacemakers. They're also physically stronger (see: the vast majority of professional athletes are Millennials) and mentally sharper.
OR, you could bend capitalism a little to help Boomers retire, Gen X invest, and Millennials get real jobs, boosting the US economy in the process and regaining trust between generations.
Your call.
