Blizzard finally issued a statement but would have been better off not saying anything. It seems to be edited by the Chinese and never apologizes.

Some updates - people are using the Overwatch character Mei as a symbol of Democracy in hopes that it will result in OW being banned in China, so share the heck out of this.

Also banned in China is Whinnie the Pooh, because their president gets triggered that people say he looks like Pooh 😂

I started writing in response to one commenter but after reading all the comments here, I think many people are unaware of what is going on with Hong Kong and China so the following is my recap of what I have knowledge of up until now. Check the points out for yourself on net.

The protests were peaceful until the police started roughing up protesters and then using infiltrating officers disquised as protesters. And then most recently police have been firing live rounds at protesters, mainly at lower parts of the body. You can track the escalation of these protests as moving from peaceful to violent as a result of actions by both parties but the provoking I think has mainly come from police.

It is a clear example of Chinese government control being exerted upon Hong Kong to bring them into line with procedures within mainland China. Even though the rule of law of Hong Kong was suppossed to be respected until i think 2047?

This same type of unrest goes on inside China on a regular basis. I have read different people suggesting that anywhere between 30 and 70 % of Chinese military manpower goes into policing the people and suppressing unrest. And some people really want to live under this kind of system.
Next time you get to talk with a mainland Chinese person, ask them about the Tianamen Square Massacre. If you dont already know the likely response it's worth the experience for your understanding of what it is living under Communism.

There is much more to it, but my basic understanding is that they are protesting an extradition law which would allow China to remove people from Hong Kong and try them for crimes. I assume this would be a joke in terms of a legal process and imagine many would be tortured and killed for things such as "liking" a certain post on social media, etc.

I saw some footage before of protestors getting the crap beaten out of them by police in full riot gear. Granted the protests don't seem peaceful but I can see why. The lack of media coverage is amazing...money runs everything

Agreed... They "look different" too.

I didn't get the lack of coverage of the yellow vests in France though.

Look up the five demands, they're pretty reasonable assuming you're not the Chinese Communist Party.

And yes, the news media are even more gutless than Google in letting themselves be cowed.

Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan’s communications director said that U.S. President Donald Trump, in a Sunday phone call which appeared to pave the way for Turkey’s offensive, agreed “to transfer the leadership of the counter-Islamic State campaign to Turkey”.
