"Though he's a supporter of "Women's Rights" and "Gun Control", which are the two flagships to the opposing conservative flagships of "Unborn Rights" and "Gun Rights", he's repeatedly said that he admires Donald Trump and has said he is a "good friend of his," since 2016, which has earned him quite a lot of ire since then."
And that right there is one of the biggest problems with lefties, the "if you're not with us, you're the evil white supremacist nazi misogynist scumbag enemy" mentality. Sure, some on the right are like that as well, but nowhere near as much. Conservatives are much better known for their willingness to sit down and have civil discussions with political opponents. You won't find many on the left who do that.
Here's a wacky idea: you can disagree with someone over political, religious, or other matters, and still be friends with them. At least, as long as they're not truly evil like Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Castro, Guevara, etc.
And newsflash, Trump is /not remotely/ like any of those people.
