Not specifically “beating your wife” but it teaches a lot about loving one another and doing unto others as you would have done to you. Beating your wife goes against those teachings.

As a whole, I'll have to disagree with you. But I won't go back and forth with you on that. Government is government, whether it's local or federal. It's all corrupt, which is why we have the Constitution. To keep them in check, and for the most part, it has.
