So much for women being nurturing, caring, and loving?
Oh wait, I'm forgetting, it's a fetus and it has no rights as a person.
I wonder what group of people they will decide has no rights next? The elderly, the disabled, the terminally ill, people on welfare, etc.
The argument that a baby is dependent on it's mother and therefore not deserving of basic human rights is ludicrous. Like anyone living today is truly independent! Most people would be out of luck if grocery stores suddenly ran out of supplies or if companies stopped building houses. Unless you live solely off the land away from society you are dependent in some form or another. What if the government decides to say, you couldn't exist without us so we can do what we want with you. That wouldn't be entirely fair would it?
I find it interesting how everyone falls back on the rape argument. As if all abortions are done because of rape. What I want to know is, if it is so traumatizing to carry the child of a rapist, how much more traumatizing would it be to learn he gets released in a few years? No one says the rapist should be executed. He just goes to jail a few years and then gets released. You want repeat offenders? Because that is how you get repeat offenders. Now he has ruined more lives because everyone is too busy trying to figure out what should be done to the baby.
I know for a fact it is traumatizing for women who are victims of sex abuse to learn that their perpetrator is being released. A girl in my sister's class was crying one day. She had been sexually abused (maybe raped, IDK all the details) and the man who committed those acts was being released that day. It had her tore up quite bad according to my sister. Which is absolutely understandable. Why are people so quick to abort a baby but turns pale at the notion of executing the one responsible, the rapist? Just give the rapist a demeaning name as well, like the way they call a baby a fetus. Call him an animal not deserving of rights and put him down as such. Until you execute the rapist don't you dare talk to me about what is traumatizing!
