We are saved by his grace when he dies on the cross and when he rose again. Now it is up to us to accept his grace. If we choose not to we are sent to hell, because we rejected the mercy of the Son (Jesus) and the God the Father is angry that His Son had to die just so you would reject it stubbornly

God has the omniscience to deal with this kinda thing. We don't, as imperfect humans, so we can't really judge whether someone is deservant of death or not.

Yup. I'd say it's pretty reasonable. People's attitudes towards God have fluctuated a lot over time. Most of the original residents of America for example all believed in God, then in a few hundred years that has deteriorated quite a bit.

Plus we're not under the law anymore. God had to take out some of those nations so that His people wouldn't die out. And they could've left the promised land in the first place. Then God wouldn't have had to take them out.
