Make Un-Following the Fun Stream An Option

By making fun automatically show up under the "followed streams" button, the list gets cluttered with memes I don't want to see and buries the memes I do want to see from my followed streams.

-Suggested Corrective Action-

Make the fun stream automatically part of the followed stream tabs so new users can get an idea of how to use it until they want to refine their viewing options. Add an "unfollow fun" button to make removal an option.

After all, the website opens on the fun stream, so nothing is going to be missed by making the fun stream able to be "unfollowed".

But haven't they mixed up the streams now when you open ingflip? Used to be front page of fun but now it's just memes from all the streams I follow and I have to go and select fun. Not fun imo

Also could you make it so that you can change what images you see on the front page? On Twitter you can hit the down arrow and click see this less often. I visit imgflip several times a day and seeing the same front page meme all the time upsets me. I want some change!

Definitely being considered. We're experimenting with ways of making other streams easier for everyone to browse, hence defaulting to followed streams so your homepage can be more customized. Suggestions are welcomed on the ranking algorithm if anyone finds it choosing things they don't want on the top few hot pages.

Here is another issue. There are 3 streams that are followed without me being able to know what they are or do anything about it.

I think the initial streams after the split are listed for everyone. Gaming, Sports etc

I know they are listed under the streams button without going down to " more streams " I just don't want to see those memes under my "followed streams" because I didn't follow them. And I didn't follow them because I didn't want to see them because there is too much crap in them. But for some reason imgflip did not include politics as part of the un-followable streams. It is the same thing. They are making me sift through stuff I don't want to see. If they are going to implement a change, it should be the same change across the board, and not selective enforcement.

So are "publicly listed" streams the imgflip generated ones or any of the streams followed from the 'more streams' button?
My main complaint is that all the fodder in the fun stream is drowning out all the memes that I want to see from my followed streams. This problem has been pushing me away from utilizing the 'followed streams' button.

It's the visibility setting that the owner of the stream configures. It can be either "public" or "public and listed".

From the creation perspective isn't it nice to have a place to post that you know has the potential to reach everybody?
I see your point though that fun will reach enough people if it's on by default and only some advanced users will turn it off if it were an option.

You're correct, it is nice. I would just like to be able to filter out the stuff that is not important to me, whichbis why ImgFlip developed the streams. Unfortunately they decided that some streams can not be opted out of viewing when going though your "followed streams".

Another thing, why is the leaderboard button gone? Used to be at the top.

leaderboard has always only showed up on the homepage, the difference now is that the homepage is Followed instead of Fun if you're logged in
