The bible doesn't mention the right to bear arms either. But our entire politcal structure is based on concepts from ancient Israel, where the basic unit of government is the family, and expands from there. Any problem that can be handled in the family should be. Problems that can't get handled at the local level, etc, etc until the biggest problems reside at the national level. Ancient Israel introduced many of the basic concepts of freedom and encoded them into law. The phrase "one nation, under God" refers to the idea that there is a law above those written by man, that we have rights and responsibilities simply by virtue of existing.
When it is said that America is built on Judeo-Christian philosophy, it isn't a reference to the majority population being Christian. The declaration and the constitution were a conglomeration of philosophy, laws, and ideas taken from many sources, but built around a framework of Christian ideals. Peace, tolerance, freedom, love, community, family. The constitution was based on the bible, but wasn't just for Christians and Jews. It was meant to build a country where all people could live together in peace.
You are smarter than your comment Octavia. It is pure ignorance, and that just isn't you.
