Im good with UBI... if we take away all other benefits. Then the people who spend it on drugs and s**ts will die in the streets. Hows that?
1 up, 6y
Dr MLK Jr also seemed to be in favor of some form of universal healthcare... (I'd assume that would include rehab.. but I could be wrong). Drug addicts will probably die in the streets regardless of anything except rehab.

WHAT AN UTTERLY STUPID MEME THIS IS THE CIVIL RIGHTS MOVEMENT NOT ONLY WAS A LIBERAL ONE, IT INSPIRED THE SAME THROUGHOUT THE WORLD | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
Native Americans from Alaska to Tierra Del Fuego, Hawaiians, Australian Aboriginals, the Irish in occupied Northern Ireland, the Women's Movement, the Gay Movement, the Peace Movement, and whatever other calls for liberty from oppressive conservatives literally murdering people to maintain the status quo and dubbing those liberals part of an insidious Jewish plot to introduce Communism worldwide.

One of those conservative traditional Southern racist shitheads shot Martin Luther King for being an 'uppity Negro who did not know his place,' or did the moronic bot tool of an OP not truly know this?

Idiot.

How utterly stupid you are to have devolved into such a racial minded shithead. Or are you too moronic to realize your hatred is exactly the kind of mindset MLK jr. fought against?
1 up, 6y
How utterly stupid you are because you don't know our (as in American, not yours, bot) history.

Now your turn.

80% of Republicans in the House and Senate voted for the bill. Less than 70% of Democrats did. Also, Minority Leader Republican Everett Dirksen led the fight to end the filibuster.

Keep telling yourself Republicans and conservatives are against civil rights. You might actually believe it someday.

I did and posted it. You just posted a bunch of numbers.

Correct, I posted the actual vote tallies.

You posted some biased propaganda twisted percentages to give an misleading picture of what occurred.
0 ups, 6y,

You apparently don’t understand what PERCENTAGE means. More Dems voter in favor only because there were more Dems in Congress. But a higher percentage of Republicans voted in favor.
No wonder your comments are so dumb.

And where did you get the “actual tallies”?
1 up, 6y
I asked this dude who sells 'interesting items' on request.
He built a time machine and changed the vote count yadda yadda isn't it a tad late for you to be up in St Petersburg at his hour don't forget Hillary lost and Benghazi.

This is how you site your source. One again proving your, so called, actual vote tallies are bogus.

Night, chump.

Look it up?

Legislation is passed by tallied vote numbers, not percentages of who voted within parties.

you cannot deny that even if it was a liberal movement, its standards were the complete opposite of liberal standards

Why does thus have to come down to liberal versus conservative, Democrat versus Republican? Racist assholes come in many flavors, and will adopt whatever label they believe furthers their ends.

No, sorry! I wasn't trying to imply that at all! Sometimes these threads can get confusinfg as to who said what when. It was just a general observation about the conversation, and not intended to accuse anyone of anything. Again, my apologies!

thats not what i mean, you can present your facts in a way that isnt belittling to people. For example, you called southerners racist $#!+heads. that is a little strong if you want to make a compelling arguement. I believe some of what you say is right, but that doesnt make you not a jerk

Well excuse me for offending you by calling Southern racists, "shitheads."

As Dear Leader has told us, they include some fine people.

In fact, some of my best friends are...
Believe me, no one loves Southern racists like me yadda yadda why is this even an issue I'm too sick at the moment to be laughing this hard my head is hurting.

im not offended by you doing this im saying that you're kinda being racist by calling southerners (which is their own group of people) racist. Don't be a terrible person just because someone else is. If you are at the point where you wanna pick a fight with all Southerners then you need some help.
2 ups, 6y
What are you going on about?
Don't like being called shithead racists, then don't be shithead racists. Done.

Yay, street fight. Git yer cuzinz and their shotgun racks and meet me in the park *rolls eyes*
Last anyone checked, Southerners weren't particularly good at it *cough cough Civil War cough cough*

This is boring?

...only stopping by to point out that the Troubles in Ireland pre-dated MLK. While some may have taken inspiration from him, their causes were very different. Okay, carry on!

I suppose I was being a bit snippy, sorry.
I had meant the approach in the 1960s was inspired by MLK's, not the movement or reasons which go farther back as you had pointed out.

So that's not MLK the Irish '66 Pearse 10 Shillings commemorates?

Good to know.
1 up, 6y,
1 reply
Not saying it isn't. The Troubles of the 1960's were a continuation of the the same problems brought by British hostility towards Ireland for centuries. The Troubles didn't start in the 1960's. That term was merely was used to describe those events, which had their origins long before.
3 ups, 6y
I was kidding.
That's the effigy of Pearse, as in Patrick Pearse, who lead the short lived 1916 Easter Uprising against British rule over Ireland.

I meant as inspired by the method MLK promoted in 1960s utilzing non-violent civil disobedience such as Ghandi had used back in his day to protest inequality and oppressive rule under the British.

I'm sure Dr MLK Jr would've thought Kaepernick was a total POS too. I mean why doesn't that loser get a job already? Why is he disrespecting the troops?

One day these lovely amnesiatic conservatives will say how Kaepernick was hassled by liberals and attacked by Antifa.

Is that why his main movement was against the twin evils of war, poverty and racism? He definitely wasn't supporting of military adventures:

"I knew that America would never invest the necessary funds or energies in rehabilitation of its poor so long as adventures like Vietnam continued to draw men and skills and money like some demonic, destructive suction tube. So I was increasingly compelled to see the war as an enemy of the poor and to attack it as such."

I was being sarcastic about MLK not supporting Kaepernick's peaceful protest.

"xP" or sometimes "XP" means "😝" in emoticons.
