That arguement doesn't apply at all to partial birth abortion though. The procedure litterally has the mother give birth to a viable baby, but kills it halfway through the process. It as stressful for the mother's body as regular birth. More so, actually, as this is done in a breech presentation so the head is the last part to come out, so the child doesn't "take a breath" which is the legal "line" in many states. It has no medical benefits for the mother. And the child could survive outside the mother's body.
But that particular procedure has been illegal for quite some time, and I don't think any politician (even pelosi) actively supports it. So it's not really a relevant topic of discussion.
