I guess the threat isn't all that real.

Regardless of how real the threat is, we are ready.

One of the "Few" things the federal government is specifically tasked with in the constitution is the protection of the national border and defending the country from invasion.

So yes, we expect the government to do its job. We can help if they need it, but I would hope the Democrats would step up and fulfill their obligation to the citizens of this country and protect the borders.

Republicans only had a majority in Congress since 2014. Four years, not eight and it was never a supermajority like the Democrats had

Secondly, while the Republicans had a majority in the Senate, it was only by 2 votes. Since most things in the Senate require 60 votes to pass, the Rebulicans still needed a bi-partisan vote. With the Democrats irrational hatred of Trump, they were, and still are, obstructing anything that would look like a win for Trump. No matter if it is the right thing for the country.

We have been SCREAMING for it since Reagan's "amnesty for border security deal" in 1986 when the dems promised a wall/border security. EVERY 4 years even dems talk tough on border security, INCLUDING building a wall. Trump campaigned boldly on it and is determined to deliver on a campaign promise.....Imagine that.
