Well let's start off with the premise, which I think you'll agree on, that mental stability is important for competition. There are a significant number of trannies who deal with mental illness - significantly more than normal ppl who know what gender they are. Herego, in general, tranny athletes are unlikely to compete at the same level as a peak woman athlete.

The rationale for this can be used to bar any player who dominates their sport from that sport level, due to an unfair physical advantage. For example - a physically gifted high school football player who is ready to be drafted into the NFL would be banned from competition during their senior year due to an unfair biological advantage.

This rationale, of course, assumes that trans women dominate their sports due to being genetic men, which has yet to happen in real life.

Except those aren't biological differences. A physically gifted boy and a fat nerd boy sitting in front of a computer still have the same biology. A boy and a girl do not.

All the changes made during "transitioning" are strictly cosmetic. You can put the shell of a VW bug around the engine of a ferrari, and maybe put a much lower octane gas in the tank, but it's still got a ferrari engine, and will outperform a genuine VW bug.

And in an actual "VW bug only" race, you'd be called out for cheating.

But why have separately gendered sports in the first place?
Pehaps the question we need to ask is not whether transwomen (who are biologically male) should be allowed into female only areas and activities, but WHY are the areas and activities female only in the first place, and should these areas or activities even be allowed to continue in a female only format. (Same for male only and transmen).
Perhaps all areas and activities should be co-ed.

The reason sports are separate is because of statistical biological differences that, depending on the sport, statistically give one gender a biological advantage over the other. Identification, even personality, does not erase this advantage. The reason for separating gender in sports is biological, not social.
So no, in this case transwomen are not the same as biological women. Same when they go to the doctor. The doctor needs to concern themselves with biological concerns, not social ones.
