There's a difference between being harsh and being cruel. Democrats enacted the child separation policy. Democrats enacted Catch and Release which was horrible for women and children. Democrats don't give a shit about illegal immigrants. They use them as a weapon to target political opposition and to garner sympathy from stupid people. Once they are in power they treat illegal immigrants like trash.

Republicans want harsh LAWS. They want people arrested at the border so they can be put through the immigration system. They get trials, lawyers, and a chance.
