There are almost 400 million privately own guns in the U.S. and over 100 million gun owners. It is estimated that these gun owners have over 1 trillion rounds of ammunition on hand at any time.

The military has about 1.8 - 2.5 million soldiers at any one time. If god forbid, a civil war ever broke out, I am sure not all soldiers would back a tyrannical government. They are people just like you and me.

It would not be as easy as people think for the government to put down a full revolt in the U.S.

The reason the American revolution was successful wasn't because of plucky Brits in the US with a few guns, it was because the British were involved in a major world conflict with the American rebellion being a side show and the French provided military assistance, arms and money to those in North America.
