Steve Harvey Meme | MAYBE THEY WILL CHANGE IT BACK | image tagged in memes, steve harvey | made w/ Imgflip meme maker
I didn’t realize that not all your stuff would show up on your profile which kinda stinks. I like to check everyone’s stuff out when I can. I’m sure they are just trying to see if this will make people happy. Theyll probably try several different tactics.

It needs to be filters not categories. I'm tired of gaming memes, but I can easily scroll past them. Maybe they can put categories in just the latest page. Let everything go on the front page.

Filters is a much better option for sure.

Maybe the Mods will see this. I don't know if it can be done. Checking NSFW works, but it's based on being labeled it.

Yeah I’m not sure what a good answer would be. I’m guessing several different things will be tried. But I’m sure I will miss many peoples memes so if anyone wants to spam links to me. I don’t mind, just putting that out there
reply

I never realized posting links to others pages for their enjoyment was spam. I see others doing it all the time. I have been here a while now. I guess I missed that part. So, if you have a meme that's the perfect comment, it's not considered appropriate to post it?
reply

I asked a Mod for an "all" option, didn't get a response. My plan is to keep them busy with flagging meme that are in the wrong section. If everyone does it, it might show the mess they created. Myself, I'm for it being a filter, not separated categories.

correct- but it could also be realized with filtering checkboxes that you may check or uncheck on your own:

Each user could customize their own based on preferences, and it would all show up in one stream (if I'm understanding you right).
reply
2 ups
that's what I thought about.
If they want to stick with streams as I understand they must try to make them more generalized (e.g. 'cute memes' instead of 'cat memes','dog memes','hamster memes'... or 'social issues/politics' instead of extra streams for gender issues or whatever.
If they over-categorize they will eventually wind up with dozens of streams.

it works the same on my android. When I click on MY submitted images it shows all of them and what category too. When I click on your username this image shows. You then have to click on that "show all" link. Then you should be able to see all your subs in each category and sort those either "hot" or "latest"

Imgflip has done a fantastic job of censoring conservatives. Now only conservatives get to see conservative memes. It's what the liberal owners and mods always wanted. Shameful. Way to prove us right.

cats aren't even part of the general public anymore. The homepage needs to allow the viewing of all memes.

"Imgflip has done a fantastic job of censoring conservatives."
How so?

"Now only conservatives get to see conservative memes."
Why is that?

" It's what the liberal owners and mods always wanted."
You know this to be a fact....how?

"Shameful. Way to prove us right. "
How is it shameful? Who is "us?" How are "you" right?

"cats aren't even part of the general public anymore"
Perhaps the mods/owners want to parse out specific genres of memes to allow the general "fun" memes to be seen through the masses of "other" memes that seem to have taken over a "general" stream of ALL memes. (I have no idea if it's true...just a thought)

"The homepage needs to allow the viewing of all memes."
You can view all memes via the main imgflip.com site. The default view is "fun."
Perhaps the mods/owners can make default view "choosable" in a way that it would pop up as per YOUR defined choice via a cookie. Would that help you?

How can I spread the word if nobody gets to see my memes except the people that also make memes to address those issues?
4 ups
Liberal memes get downvotes into submission because conservatives on here down vote them. The sheer number of conservatives make any other points of view impossible to post. So, the changes allow the conservatives to have their unadulterated political meme stream and the liberals don’t have to see them by default.

Win/win
reply
1 up, 1 reply
Funny how you libtrolls like to quote mods on saying that downvoting can't send things back to submission unless it works against your arguments.
4 ups
“Libtrolls?” Does that make you a “controll?” Lol
I have not idea what mod I am quoting or how; but downvoting from the conservatives happens all the time to my political memes to the point by they got back to submission status. I don’t whine about it.

Sentence by sentence. So mature.

The only people that see political memes are people that go to the political stream. It's quite obvious that the 40 or so of us are predominantly conservative if you've clicked on the political stream.

It's shameful because censorship is shameful. This site should promote free speech, not stifle it. Conservatives on this site have addressed the lefts hypocrisy and anticonstitutionalism many times. This censorship proves us right.

The default should be to view all memes and users should be able to customize their experience without the site administration doing it for them.

A few months ago, he was going on on how laonsite was my alt. After I pointed out that laonsite joined months before I did and our styles are totally diff (laon is more detailed, posts links, and is way funnier), he went on to say yeah but ALL the librrrrrulzzzzz on this site were alts of mine because the whole world luvs Trump and me/we were here solely to foil his clandestine mission to implement the Trump Rapture here and the Martians with Santa and Yeti 007 plus the UFOs Big Mac secret sauce blah blah blah,,,

I pointed out how here, Reddit, 4Chan, Twitter, FB, and whatnot were swamped by alt right trolls. I referred to this article in which the Reddit founder/owner had to troll his own site to rid them (after they went as far as to make threats on his life), but I didn't get round to posting the link because Grind was totally zipping off into zarzom land:

https://money.cnn.com/2016/11/30/technology/reddit-steve-huffman-trolling/index.html

He took this as some sort of quasi confession and asked if I was, get this - please make sure you're not drinking or eating anything at the moment - THE owner of this very site!
I replied with something along the lines of, "Are you serious?," and he went all yippee that that was an admission because I didn't deny it with a notorized statement delivered to him by an attorney or some crap.

He's been licking the nads of anyone he thinks is me ever since, and when they firmly deny it, called them something far worse that I will not repeat here.

He's done it to some, and done worse even.

Not conservatives on Reddit, since the regular sorts can be pretty cool. There's civil conservatives on Imgflip. Many are drowned out or refrain from stepping into the embarrasment that these Trump trolls foster.

It was alt right trolls, specifically. They had practically taken over, harrasing many till they left, just like the ones here are trying That's why they're disgruntled about the seperate streams. Their intentions are sitewide takeovers, not a measly section. Silence dissent in memes and social media outlets.

WAIT! 4Chan let you join? I was once told here (as you witnessed) that they would never give me the secret password cuz I is not cool enuf ta hang with em big boyz, yo.

NEWS FLASH: It's in my tagline in my profile. "jackin' off" = Jack_Henoff, g-g-git it? Oh, thats right, you did, because you're clever.

It was when I returned from that excursion (go check, that account has been inactive. I gotta check too, I still get replies on occassion for stuff from ages ago) that you said it after your brilliant deduction that my tagline indicating I was Jack indicted I was Jack by indictating I was Jack.

As someone who has been a mod... (Not on this site) I can confirm mods have alt accounts so that they appear more neutral or aren't accused of playing favorites by the administrators.

Remember, this place awards you points that allow you to be ranked and the place I came from also had a similar situation. I also had a habit of breaking things and finding bugs so I was allowed a second account that acted as a big dumb idiot in the "game" and a moderator on the forum side of things. It was fun!

What was my point again?

Oh, right. Just because moderators have second accounts isn't necessarily proof of nefarious agendas.

I don't understand.

Most of the political memes on this site seem to lean more towards the conservative-side anyway, so I don't see any point in mods removing a specific conservative meme unless it violated their rules, or if it was just so insulting that it received too many downvotes from the whole community right from the oft.

Did you also try posting memes that were maybe not so inflammatory but still conservative and they were still removed? I'm more interested in hearing about your personal experience in this and actually seeing what memes you posted that were removed before I jump to any conclusions.

And I'm not talking about your witness of confessions that validate your arguement for you, but rather what specific memes you say were removed. I assume you can still post links to them, yes? I'm a bit new here.

So, why not list some of your unpopular/removed memes here and maybe we can see if there is any validity to your accusations.
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
I've never had a meme removed that I cared about. My complaint has to do with the separation of genres from the homepage. I think they should all be shown to a person logging onto the site for the first time. I think people should customize their own experience, not have one forced on them.

The reason I'm taking this personal is because the mods have used troll accounts to try and chase conservative memers away. When that failed the just stuck us in a box and stuck warning stickers and do not enter signs on it.
reply
0 ups
I am not disagreeing about more customization. I'm sure we might even get that later on down the line as a lot of people seem to agree that more customization is good.
However, what you're perceiving as a personal threat is more along the lines of an inconvenience. It's also a little insulting to the intelligence to the overall people who come to this site that they are incapable of going to the political section which is just perposterous.

If there were liberal political memes being posted in the fun section I'd be more agreeable but I understand the need for people who want to GET AWAY from political posts and seperating them from the other posts. My arguement isn't that the customization isn't wanted but it's not needed right this second. Right now. And if it's not done in a few months then yeah, maybe your argument will hold more weight that the mods aren't listening to us.

You keep stating it as fact that the mods trolled conservatives to chase them away, but that is only on your say-so. You'd be more believable if you said that the mods were biased against new memes because the default is hot and not new. And thats why I think most people preceive you as paranoid rather than making a convincing argument that customization is needed, and that it's needed right now.

Censorship is spreading, is violence. Actual violence is also spreading again conservatives a moderates
reply

Conservatives were all about due process until, all of a sudden, they believe any accusation made against liberals.

Don't get me wrong. As a real moderate... the MeToo movement and the BelieveHer movement are not exactly saints. I appreciate where they're coming from but the moment we start firing people without evidence or imprisoning them without evidence, which we've started doing the former, then we're hitting that slippery slope.

Just because you think you're a moderate doesn't make you a moderate. Just because you think the other side is crazy and you think your side is sane, doesn't mean you're a moderate.

Moderates are people with ideas from both sides, and are willing to argue with both conservatives and liberals, hoping to reach some resemblance of a compromise in the middle.
