There is a way to do it, by linking to a comment on a thread or something, hopefully one of the "old guard" will chip in. I think it was AndrewFinlayson who explained it me a while ago.

I didn't even know you could. I've commented on an old meme for the purpose of it being unlikely to be seen (followed quickly by 5 random comments on 5 of my own memes to push it out of my profile), but that's about as close as you can get, as far as I know.

Octavia's sort of right, but you CAN do it from a phone. Hold your finger on a meme comment and choose to open the image in a new tab. Highlight the name of the image in the title bar, then go back to the original meme page and replace the last part of the page address with what you copied.

I knew I made the right choice avoiding iPhones.

On computer, drag the image into a new tab and it'll show as:

https://i.imgflip.com/2itnlp.jpg

Get rid of the "i." and ".jpg" and add an "i" between the .com and url, like:

https://imgflip.com/i/2itnlp

Put slashes between the i.

On your phone, you just tap and hold an image, and tap to copy link. Paste the link in the browser, and do the same as on a computer and it works.
