The debate about reposts lol

I've had a few get buried only to see something similar if not the exact same later on and it garneded traction. I quit trying to figure it all out. Just hope people laugh and that's all I care for.

I had two that went from featured to submitted in the last couple days. I don't think downvotes got them unless downvotes counteract upvotes because they both had many views and upvotes! Maybe some butthurt user "flagged" them as reposts and a moderator sent them back to submitted status. I don't know. Don't care anymore.

I was wondering what happened to that first one... That's just lame, I mean, a small explanation as to why it gets pushed back to submitted would be nice...

Again, I can't control how people upvote or downvote. So I quit caring of such things a couple years ago.

Here is a recent post where a mod is in the comment section giving some explanation of why images are pushed back to submitted or not even approved. From what I gather, a straight up repost from another site will not be approved or pushed back if a mod realizes it; and too many downvotes on a "featured" meme will get them sent to submitted status.

Hmmm. Of all the years I've been on here, I've never seen a mod respond. Disclaimers often never get read, much like ToS.

Yeah pretty much. It's become such a running gag, but it honestly makes sense. We need an alternative to plastics.

Convenience supercedes environmentalism. Sure, I'll vote to keep earth cleaner, but try convincing three generations of a populace that grew up on this stuff.
