I've had many go back into submission. But never one that was doing well

I don’t know if that’s what happened in your case, but I think SwiggysBack had that reason given.

Swiggy showed what they didn’t like. I thought it was because the template already had text, and that Swiggy didn’t alter it enough.
I may be wrong about that, but it’s probably close to what he was saying.

Swiggy claimed he was posting memes he himself created previously offsite some time ago.
The counter argument that this is a meme making site, so regardless, they should have been created here.

That's the reason I had one pulled once, or I assumed so. Just a picture that I doctored up but no text. It was funny enough, I thought.

I think if it’s original enough, even without text they should let it stay. I get that they don’t want other site’s stuff on here, but that’s not what yours sounds like.

Right now, it has 71 views, but not because it featured. I don't know If I mentioned here or Swiggy did, but it was linked and people saw it.That's why the views. I'm just waiting for it to feature, then maybe I'll go back to posting.

Wow, that’s a lot of views! I had one that had 21 or so views before I deleted it.
I’ve seen people delete and repost to see if it works better on the second try, even ones that did feature, but got buried.
If you’re waiting for this one, I recommend you just move on and start making new stuff. It’s more fun that way :-)

Nah. I saw what happened with Swiggy. I only had them non-feature one of mine. Swiggy was getting too many too often. He told me he took a break earlier this year: just didn't post for about a month, then came back: started getting the same crap. Last day here, he'd submitted his 3 for the day. He checked through the day, but they never feature. He goes in that night, checks, still not featured. Next time he goes in to see if they featured, and his account was gone.

It's not worth it. I pop in once in a while for a laugh, but have a hard time finding political snark funny. It's like one of the mods actually wants humor on page one, and another wants to push a political agenda. When Page 1 is full of political crap, I never go to page 2. The crap was gone this morning, so I pushed on and found Raydog's GIF.

No, Swiggy's using some of my old memes since he didn't save all of his. When he gets mine downloaded, I'll be canceling out my account. I don't know if I'll go over to Imgur like he did, but Imgflip has pretty much disillusioned me of social media. I don't even go on facebook more than once every few months.

Sure thing. He said a lot of people have left over the last year or so. He said that Acuity12 was the worst troll of the mods, though, that would actually troll a user after a post was pulled. I see that's the same mod here.

The creation I lost that was doing well had no captions. Probably moderator action, same as Raydog.

I haven't lost one to downvotes for about three months. Can you check when the last time was for you?

The way I read one of acuity's comments, newly featured creations won't go back to submitted by a few early downvotes.

Maybe the down with downvotes really did catalyze a change.

Hey, that's what happens when you copy an image directly from another popular website! Lots of people do this, but so far we've refused to let imgflip become just another recycling bin website, there are too many websites like that. Perhaps we'll add a category called reposts to go along with politics though.

Plenty of people try to do that as well, which is very hazy territory for being a "creative" image. Often I will disapprove images if they just caption something with "amen" or "yep" or "well said" because it's not adding any creative value, but rather commenting on someone else's creativity. If the primary funny/creative aspect of an image was created by someone else and posted on some other website, then it's not good content for the imgflip homepage. GIFs are a bit different, since they almost always require chopping of a video at a particular point which requires some creative input.

Once again Acuity12, thanks for the further insight...you've basically just answered one of the main questions a lot of users have had about why some memes get pulled as well as why they don't get approved at all....people, myself included, sometimes forget all the crap you mods have to go through when we get all pissy when things don't go our way...but when you guys do offer some answers, most of us do understand...it's the "not knowing" that tends to bother people. I realize you can't answer every question, bitch, or gripe that comes your way, but I'm glad you took the time to address this one.

Okay then, I can understand the argument behind why one of mine went back to submitted after going live. I could argue that the "funny/creative aspect" of the image, the demotivational part, was entirely mine, but I can't be bothered now.

As long as there's a mod on the line though, I just have to try and ask, is there a reason some images never go live, like this one I made?

Is it because, as some surmised, there's no "image description", since I made it entirely on photoshop, therefore no text was entered on the meme generator page? (Even though I've had others with no image description go live, so then I figure it just comes down to which mod is doing the approving).

It surely can't be because of the image itself, plenty in a similar style came out for R Lee Ermey just the day before.

This is pretty much the main reason I disapprove live images now. Images with low upvotes no longer get automatically disapproved.

Can you define live images? Do you mean video with sound? Or something different?

maybe if you sandwiched it in between a hippie and an old, bald guy, they might have let it go. I got that image in my Pinterest feed a week or two ago, so I suppose the mods have seen it a few times.They just wait until it hits the hot pages and pull it.

But they don't follow their own rules as well.
