Spent a day when I was a little Modda with company over trying that, but I wrapped the handle in a sock and jabbed & let go so quick the tip didn't get in most of the time. Wanted to make sparks fly out.

Seriously though, if the lights stay on when its not all the way in the on postition the switch is shorting out and is a fire hazard. Should only be on when making contact in the on position.
