He is a clown. And an idiot. If you weren't too busy coming all over yourself at the thought of him abusing minorities, women, children & immigrants, and actually listened to him talk, you'd know he was a flaming moron, too.

He's the Golden Goose. THAT'S why the GOP doesn't criticise or oppose him, they're using him.
He's a sadly addled fallguy, being utilized by those who could never politically get away with such blatant self serving legislation on their own. They know he's going down, he'll take the blame, his puppeteers retire before they can sink with him.
In the meantime the minions lap it up because they think they'll be rich enough to reap the benefits one day in never never land,,,

Doubtful, since it would have been leaked by his competition if you mean back to the primaries. Ever since, anything from bribes to blackmail and threats could very well have been utilized to get/keep some in line. Concerns over such might have something to do with all those early retirements, the only way to get out of a quagmire worsening from all angles.

Difference of opinion, different stances, different interpretations of facts is one thing, but deliberately spewing nothing the most inane lies is pretty indcative of how aware they are of their bs.

Have any proof? Economy looks about the same. Unemployment is low but inflation is night and wages are stagnate. The stock market is calling.

So what are you going on claiming better than the last 5 presidents?
reply
2 ups, 1 reply
Damn. Ya don't even read do you. Every jobs report since early 2017 has been positive across the board. Another one is due out today. Last week it was even reported that there was jobs available than people to fill them. We are literally standing at the gates of colleges and high schools waiting on people to enter the work force. I just hired a guy for 30 dollars an hour, no experience, because the market is that drained right now. That's from growth. Wages haven't been stagnant the whole time. They've been going up steadily, but not so much as to trigger inflation. Stock market? I'm up 40% since 2017, and that's just basic investing. But why even bother to talk to someone who can't even post using something other than anonymous? You want proof? Turn off your TV and read the "job report".
reply

Here read this: https://www.brookings.edu/blog/fixgov/2018/05/17/trump-lags-behind-his-predecessors-on-economic-growth/

No....every job report hasn't been positive. They were equally as positive under Obama but then they were "fake" numbers. And again- one data point (in your case jobs report) doesn't mean a lot. Under obama unemployment was low as well. But conservatives cries the jobs people had were low level, low paying jobs.

This is either the same now.....or it was a lie then.

Trump hasn't done anything to change the already doward trajectory of unemployment under Obama. https://data.bls.gov/timeseries/LNS14000000

The dow was also following the trajectory Obama had....and dipped early in 2018 and hasn;t bounced past the high point.

Look- I am not saying the economy is awful but to say it's doing better than the past 5 presidents is simply wrong and baseless.

You just hired a guy for $30 so that must mean the economy is good.

I just ate a huge omelet so there is no world hunger.
reply

"Economic positives under Obama were fake calculations based on skewed data."

"Economic positives under Trump are now real calculations based on the same data."

That last year's economic trends were a result of (Obama's) fiscal policy set the year prior is rendered irrelevent because of Tweeters.

The economy was in a tailspin for a decade till this Trump was elected. He even took credit for continued growth since the day AFTER the election!

I've always envied people like that. To be so delusional - if they actually believe their deliberate distortions - must be a true joy.

People in his administration did illegal things. I doubt very highly that he was completely oblivious to it. If he knew, he's complicit. If he didn't know, he's oblivious.

When shady stuff happened under Obama, would you say "it wasn't him, it just happened under his administration"?

I could be wrong, but didn't Reagan know about the weapons sales to Iran at the time they happened? Also, his administration knew about the atrocities committed by the Contras while they were happening, but they looked the other way.
reply
5 ups, 1 reply
I call out any president and other government official that do illegal things. There is plenty of evidence that Obama and his administration did illegal things under his watch, but as for Reagan himself, there isn't any real evidence he knew anything about the deals. Being niave to it all might be a legitimate argumentally, but whether or not he knew, there just isn't evidence of that.
reply
8 ups, 4 replies
I don't doubt that Obama's administration did illegal things, but I find it very hard to believe that Reagan didn't know about major stuff like the Iran-Contra dealings.

Obviously I don't know what he knew, but I don't buy the "I know nussing!" claim.

Do you mean Reagan was unaware of the Contras he created or do you mean that he he was oblivious to the fact that he traded arms to Iran for Hezbollah held hostages in Lebanon from which Cowboy Ron made our soldiers flee from or that he bought said arms by using the CIA to transport so much coke that it started the crack epidemic in the US but Reagan was too addled in the head to know he was the biggest dealer in history and that he supplied our enemy Iran with weapons and that he also supplied weapons to Iraq to fight Iran including the nerve and mustard gas George W started a war for because he knew Saddam had those WMDs because Reagan gave it to them?

I'm a little lost here,,,
reply

PS: "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." is actually a quote from Israel when it was found out that they supplied the weapons to Iran on Reagan's behalf in exchange for, yup, pistachios.
Despite Iran's anti-Israel yadda yadda'ing, Iraq posed a bigger and real threat to Israel. Hence the, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend," because support for Iran was a way of keeping Iraq at bay.
reply

The quote "The enemy of my enemy is my friend" is one of the first principles taught in classes on foreign policy. Proxy wars, as bad as they are, have kept the nuclear powerhouses from fighting directly with each other for decades, and that, is the lesser evil. Not saying it's good by any means, but hard choices have to be made and everyone of them has far reaching consequences that have to be reckoned with, usually by another administration.

Prior to 1979, most pitachios sold in the US where bought from Iran. They are far better than the ones grown in California since. While awaiting those newly planted trees to bear fruit, the market demanded other means to procure them....

You sound like a liberal when Obama was president. His job growth was great too.
reply
0 ups, 1 reply
Wage growth up 2.7%. Any higher and inflation would get triggered, so that's a good thing. Seriously, all one has to do is look at the monthly job reports. When all the major news outlets are saying the economy is booming, it's hard to say it's not. Unless it just hurts to admit that ole Donny boy is getting something right. And when I say news outlets, I'm referring to their "money" divisions, not their talking head divisions.

Job growthnow is no better then under obama. Are you dense?

And real ages haven't grown anywhere near that amount over 10 years let alone the last year. Try again.
reply
0 ups, 3 replies
That data came out over the last job report. I'm not dense. I just don't let other's think for me. The jobs reports speak for themselves. The fact that I can't even find anyone to work for less than 30 dollars an hour today vs having a stack of resumes 2 years ago with people wanting to work for half that, tells me a lot. I actually work in this economy and hire. I have first hand knowledge of what's going on. Even CNN Money agreed that there a more jobs available than people to fill them, something virtually unheard of. Obama never saw GDP growth like what is going on now either. 2016 was at 1.9%...pathetic. We are on track for seeing 4% if the current trend continues. Almost every company in my industry had their hand on the "hire" button just waiting to see if Trump won. When those results came in, our entire industry started hiring, because they knew the tax cuts were coming. You talk like someone who doesn't even work. That's the only way you could have such a dismal outlook and be so clueless. Then again, you're anonymous. I'll leave you to your trolling.

Yes, thanks to Obama's regulations and taxes being reversed. His economic legacy has been dismantled, starting with multiple executive orders written in 2017 undoing his burdensome regulations that actually drove small companies out of business, then lowering taxes on individuals and companies that freed up money for spending and growth.
