In Mexico there are roads where people walk and drive safely all the time, but to the left and right of the roads are the ditches where the sewer flows. The people on the far right and far left--are in the proverbial ditches wading in their own shit. I stay away from both.

That would be a start, though with the current climate I feel like representatives would lump even anonymous legislation in with the opposing party if it didn't contain exactly what we wanted. Imo only fix would be to end the parties-all of them. Have contenders run strictly as individuals.

I've always loved the warnings of the founding fathers. Our Constitution was designed to keep these possibilities at bay so long as the people elected good men to office, and so long as the people sought to be good themselves. I don't see much of either anymore. Not that they aren't out there, but their voices are struggling to get through the noise of dissension.

The Republicans had a plan on the table and it would have been much better than what the democrats had in mind (nothing), but they decided their ignorance and bickering with their enemies is far greater.
