Sorry,but no
The one who has ruined music is MTV.Even in the early years of MTV,he production houses and labels saw a great potential in popularizing their musicians by airing their music on MTV
They first aired Rock and Metal, which is great, but then came Glam/Hair Metal bands(which were basically sellout Metal bands) and they just f**king sucked! Just google "Dio -MTV killed metal" or "Why Hair Metal god pounded and deserved it" and you'll see why! Although,I personally don't mind Glam Metal that much, because they at the very least use instruments, and have actually helped some people get into actual Heavy Metal like Iron Maiden and Judas Priest
MTV also popularized Madonna, the very first pop diva(some may argue that Bonnie Tyler is the first pop diva, but Madonna, beyond any shadow of the doubt, inspired the future pop divas the most),and she was responsible for spawning a massive truckload of other pop divas like Katy Perry,Taylor Swift,Lady Gaga,Meghan Trainor,Whitney Houston,Britney Spears, all of them popularized by MTV,and all of them slaughtering the music industry
Then,at the late 80's,MTV made a new TV show called "Yo! MTV Raps",a show the entire rap genre owes it's popularity to(and while there are decent lyricists in the genre like Tupac,I'll still make some dishonorable mentions like JayZ,Eminem,Lil Wayne,Kanye West,50 Cent and whoever made that abominarion called "Gucci Gang")
Meanwhile,a boy band called New Kids on the Block was breaking through with their album "Hangin' Tough", once again, popularized by MTV.Soon,an entire wave of boy bands would come, like One Direction and Big Time Rush, and even girl bands, like Little Mix,all of them giving their contribution in music pollution
And,of course,there's Justin Bieber,who is a story for himself
By the way,great meme!
