If you answered "Both A & B", then you are correct.

Assault rifles actually are quite a bit deadlier than hunting rifles, as assault rifles are fully automatic (the AR-15 and modern M-16 are NOT assault rifles) and often hold more ammunition. Regardless, obviously both are potentially lethal.

I gotta hand it to them. They are trying so damn hard to demonize these guns.

Many are arguing for assault rifle bans (note that fully automatic weapons are already banned) and pointing at the AR-15 and calling it an assault riffle. I don't think you and I are in disagreement. I am just, for the sake of discussion, accepting their definition rather than insisting on the correct one.

Oh good, a chance to get my gun nerd fix! An assault rifle technically is in an intermediate cartridge, meaning between and pistol cartridge and a full power rifle cartridge. A FN-FAL, for instance, looks like any other assault rifle, but technically because of the caliber being full power, it is a battle rifle. It is actually more deadly than an Ar-15, as you would find out if you tried to hide behind a brick wall from it or an AR-15 round.
