One person did. And if people are too lazy to read less than a page (shorter than any news article), maybe they have no business trying to force an oversimplified opinion on a complicated subject that can affect millions.

The idea of law enforcements job being to protect and prevent crime is a fallacy. That is not their job. Their job is to investigate crime and arrest the perpetrators so they can be brought up for prosecution. That is the first thing I was taught in my Admin of Justice class. Yes, if they see a crime being committed or one formulating they will make efforts to prevent it but that is not their primary job. So if the ATF does their job, they come to your house, find out what and how and then hopefully find out who. So when they arrest the killer, may your family be grateful and not in distress because you are dead. The ATF will have done their job.

Yea I took a criminal justice class, too. My instructor was one of the detectives in the Tate-Lobianco murders. But it's a fallacy to try to portray law enforcement as simply coming to investigate after you're dead. They also respond to 911 calls and tips from the community about crimes being committed.

The ATF, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms, will only be coming to my house if I'm stockpiling illegal guns. They will be enforcing the gun ban by investigating and taking the guns off the streets and away from people who are breaking the law, like they do now.

And when has ANY government agency actually done It's job effectively?
Many things are good ideas IF (but only IF) you trust the government to be BOTH honest and competent (I don't trust them to be either).

I gotta ask you... if you got your precious gun ban, who do you think is going to enforce it? Local police? Nope, gun ban goes against the 2nd Ammendment, a Civil Right, and by law Law Enforcement Officers can't violate ones civil rights. U.S. Military? Nope can't use U.S. Military against U.S. citizens on U.S. soil. NATO? Ha, can you just imagine what would happen if NATO forces came marching on U.S. soil!?

If want to see what would happen if an outside force came into enforce it... watch Red Dawn! The original is the better version, but either one will work.
