It is illegal, but ignored because it doesn't suit their agenda.

The action of texting and driving being illegal is more similar to the act of murder being illegal. Banning the phone is what would make a better analogy for gun control.

I hate phones...but the phone is only dangerous when used to text while driving. There are millions of people using phones legally and without endangering anyone. It sounds to me like your point is analogous to the reasoning of gun control advocates. I do see your point about the analogy though.

I'm actually very pro-second amendment. I just hate to see any argument from any side being made off of faulty reasoning

We'd still have a problem. Adults. Adults text, drink and drive, smoke, and more just like teenagers. If you really want to get rid of the problem than we need people to start raising their kids correctly.
We don't need gun control either, we need people who can do good. If we take the guns away, it will simply just make it harder for them. They will buy guns on streets, steal them from stores and people, and heaven knows what else.
One of the biggest problems of this world: People who don't give a flying pig about people's safety and lives. Their kids and families.

If people raise their kids correctly, we won't have 19-year olds shooting up their school from bad experiences there.

That's what gum control is, stopping the source.if people can't easily buy them then they can't easily sell them either. Gun control is needed. They aren't taking guns away, they are making it regulated. Guns are not like cigarette where people have withdrawal effects. When they are taken away, enthusiasts whine and cry cause they are more like toys

If people can't easily buy them then the criminals will just make their own guns illegally.

And passing laws that prohibit texting while driving obviously doesn't work, so what makes the gun control advocates think passing more gun laws will work?

If the government was run by all democrats that's what would happen. But, everyone would be issued an Uber card so they wouldn't have to worry about walking anywhere.

and who would pay for uber?

Who do you think? The "government" AKA taxpayers! Liberals enjoy taxing anything & everything for equitable distribution -- ha ha

ah the irony of it. They say no one will have to pay for anything, but everyone actually pays for everything

96 Americans are killed with guns a day. A lot of people, not just teens die from a auto mobile accident, many more die from fire arms. Yes we do need gun control. And i no your gonna say "Oh, but they will just get it illegally!", thats why they need to be STRICT. People will never stop killing others with guns, but at least with a control, the numbers will go down. America’s gun homicide rate is more than 25 times the average of other high-income countries.(https://everytownresearch.org/gun-violence-by-the-numbers/#America) That is a problem, and thats because the other countries don't let civilians have war machines.

comma after teens in second sentence, change "no" to "know"

The statistics match the trends seen in previous years, which show knife murders far outnumbering rifle statistics. In 2013, knives were used to kill 1,490 and rifles were used to kill 285. Handguns far outnumber both knives and rifles in American murders. There were 7,105 murders by handgun in America in 2016.

Handguns were not included in the assault weapons ban.

Writing on the issue of handgun violence, The Federalist makes this interesting point:

“But what about handgun murders?” you might ask. “They’re responsible for the majority of gun murders, so why don’t we just ban them and stop worrying about rifles?” Easy: because gun bans and strict gun control don’t really prevent gun violence. Take, for example, Illinois and California. In 2013, there were 5,782 murders by handgun in the U.S. According to FBI data, 20 percent of those — 1,157 of the 5,782 handgun murders — happened in Illinois and California, which have two of the toughest state gun control regimes in the entire country. And even though California and Illinois contain about 16 percent of the nation’s population, those two states are responsible for over 20 percent of the nation’s handgun murders.

96 people die from guns each day. 96 multiplied by 365.25 (35064 a year) is way more than 11 multiplied by 365.25. (4017.75) And 7 children are killed a day with guns. Yes , there are more teens killed a day with texting and driving, but that doesn't have anything to do with guns. You can't say that it makes the guns better since more teens die a day with cars than kids do with guns. And like I said before, 96 a day versus 11 a day. I'm not saying that people dieing, no matter the cause, is terrible. I'm just simply telling you that your wrong. And thats not an opinion. Because there are no lies with statistical numbers.

More kids die from cars than from guns. A lot more. Why are you so dumb you can't understand that? Did your mom run you over as a child?

No, because MY mother is a responsible person.

Even if more people die a day from cars than guns, it still doesn't make guns better. There is still the death. To stop car deaths, we need to make cars safer, but you can't make a gun safer, because they are killing machines, designed and created to kill.

I don't think we should have the right to own guns like an assault rifle, and I don't think you have the right to tell me to get out of my country, and your over there screaming about rights.
