Also common in the Central Valley of California, where I grew up. They were murder on bicycle tires.

Yep, I was in 29 Palms they're there, in Arizona, Colorado, where ever it's semi-arid (which I saw someone else say on here as well).

And you're right, I went through a lot of tubes.

We called them goat's heads...I didn't see anyone else here call them that.

Yup, we also call them goat heads. One of my cats (long-haired) brings in about 1 a week lately for my barefoot to find!

Remember that kid in that template who said “Going to spank me? Good luck.” And there were legos all over the floor

i remember it cause it inspired my 'Pitfall meme' where a guy swings over a pit of legos on a vine.

Texas's puncture vine problem is nothing compared to California's, it's so damn hot and dry here they get hard and are sharp enough to puncture a whole damn tire.

My 3year old daughter stepped on some in Billings MT, went right through her shoes into her feet, I had to throw the shoes away because there were spines broken off inside the foam soles.

I'm from New England too. If those things were around here I'm sure my son and his friends would have found some evil things to do with them.

Never seen those here in Washington, but i know the pain. Blackberry bushes are akin to weeds here, and half the time you only find them by not wearing long/thick clothing...
