First World Problems

I've had several encounters with "that type" of member.

Haha! Not a problem. What inspired this, is that I was reading a comments section (I'm pretty sure it was Facebook), and there was a woman commenting, calmly sharing a view, and making every effort to be polite, and this guy just tore her apart anyway (with name calling, etc) saying he really didn't care because he was a heartless troll and there was nothing she could do about it. I realized that sometimes it doesn't matter how you handle the situation, if you encounter these people, you're gonna get torn apart!

So true! It's the whole anonymity thing. We don't know where each other lives, and probably separated by hundreds if not thousands of miles. You can't do anything to me, I can't do anything to you, and if I wanna be a dirty sphincter of a person...what can they do to stop me?

Are you using emoji's? Sometimes if I am in a hurry and post a comment using lol in it I will automatically add an emoji out of habit and it puts question marks in place of it like this.... ????

Kinda. I tried to use and emoticon (not an emoji, but the faces made out of text) and it made the nose a question mark. I didn't notice until later. So I don't think this site recognizes any text other than normal keyboard letters.

rkocity, this didn't really happen to me personally, but was inspired by an online conversation that I read. I told about it in a couple of comment replies already. But now I don't even remember what the subject of the original conversation was.

I appreciate the sentiment, but this didn't really happen to ME personally. And in the original, the guy called the lady "gingersnaps," (which might not have made as funny a meme). He called her that, then she asked him politely not to, and then (of course) he did it again! And declared himself a heartless troll, saying she didn't know who she was dealing with. I don't know how "asshat" occurred to me, but once it did, it seemed to really fit the picture. It looks like genuine "hurt feelings." Maybe the only way to avoid being fed to the sharks is to stay out of the water!
