I actually asked a biblical scholar about this and apparently it was a cause of fierce debate in the past.
Some said that they wouldn't have had belly buttons because they weren't born but created. Others argued that they would have been created with belly buttons because that's how humans were meant to be and they were templates.
The thing was, I wasn't expecting a serious answer.
