I knew the Democratic Party was evolving into the GOP, and now they are acting like it.

I never said that about Obama. I knew he was my president. I just never voted for him and pretty much hated everything he did.

I think we all understand the political process and the fact that he won the electoral vote makes him our president. I doubt anyone is confused about that whole thing. But the fact that he's not working for the good of all of the citizens in the US, and has repeatedly shown himself to favor one faction of the country over another, engenders a feeling that he is not truly every American citizen's president and thus "not my president"...

If you're a legal American citizen, he's your president, whether you voted for him or not. For many people, that seems to be difficult to understand.

While I disagree with your eval of Donald Trump, I get where you're coming from. I see it in a different way. Originally, I didn't want Trump as my president, but after he won the primaries I was pulling for him due to the fact I DID NOT want Hillary in office.

I think people get that. They just hate everything he does and the statement "not my president" pretty much sums that up in a nutshell.

Possibly. However imagine if republicans had protested with "Not my president" signs when Obama was in office?

Please... the GOP did just that by refusing - and making it known- they would not work across the isle. That was unprecedented at the time. From that point on, congress has been a stagnant swamp on BOTH sides

there were plenty of people that did. I haven't said it about Trump, even though I didn't vote for him. About as many right wingers said it about Obama as Left wingers say it about Trump. That was in 2015, but I heard it plenty of times from 2009 into 2017. It only stopped on the right wing side with Trump's inauguration. Then the left started saying it.

I noticed it was an ignorant statement a long time ago. One reason why I choose not to say it. I give every new president the benefit of the doubt, always have regardless if I voted for him or not. A screw up will eventually show their ignorance. I sit back and observe. This is one case I had to point out that the left has learned something from the right. We're on the verge of another civil war. I'm curious, though, who will come to the forefront to pick up the pieces.

As a state Citizen - he is the President of a Foreign Corporation, which was created to serve my needs- because @ the time it was needful to do something of that sort...and it seemed to make sense. But the People of California used to live in a State of Mexico. And the Russians and Chinese both have a HIGHER Claim @ Commercial Law - tho by a treaty they may have waived those claims, at least temporarily....

No. I avoid the twits... But yeah a hashtag. Seriously, round here people are past the mourning(...which for many on the 'real' left began when Bernie let Hillrod make him, her bitch. I was never taken in personally...but I can count bumper stickers - so I could see it all happening. It is a very sad world. That is Shocking to me.She was certainly better in my view than the alt(right)ernative...but I didn't support her -and was always surprised to find people who ACTIVELY liked her. She represents the neolib hijacker wing of the DNC - The DLC cluster. Bernie is better but notperfecyt. Jill Stein fought harder than anyone to expose the election theft (glad I voted for her)...but that should surprise no one. Grankly Ithink Hillary wins a fair vote. A murderer on death row could be elected president as long as he had the majority of votes in the right states as long as he/she meets the criteria. A natural born citizen over the age of 35 that has not served two terms as president.

I live in Kerrville. The beautiful hill country. I've been to SC for my basic training at Fort Jackson. It's not bad over there from what I saw.

Lived in Kerrville since '93 with a three year stint in the Army In '05-'08. Was stationed in Fort Jackson, Fort Lee, Fort Leonard Wood, and Fort Riley.
