It is baffling. You can submit something that you're sure is that a winner, and it tanks. Submit something that you think is dumb, but submit anyway, and it gets to the front page. Someone else might know how it works, but after almost three years here, it's still a mystery to me.

Pride...stubborn ego that prevents one from obeying God's commandments. Appropriate word. Only people with humility will try to look at moral issues from God's point of view.

For most of american history they couldnt come out of the closet even to close family, adopt kids, move in certain neighbourhoods, get certain jobs, go somewhere in public without harassment, get married, etc etc.

Everyone is proud of who and what they are, their sexuality, religion, age, etc. Let them have their celebratory months, parades, whatever. I don't care. It's when I'm told that I should be ashamed of who and what I'am and others pride are forced on me that I have issues. Also groups of people don't like to be ignored. It's just human nature.

Although I don't think any type of sexual preference needs to be out in the public on total display. I don't care if you're gay, straight or anything else.

That's kinda the irony. To have these kinds of parades, it only demonstrates how insecure they are.

It is the "bully is really a coward" theory, or like the guy at work who is constantly boasting about how smart he is... because he is insecure about his intelligence.

A confident person does not need to constantly say "I'm confident."

Look up pride. It started from lgbtq people getting beat, oppressed, and killed for who they are. Pride is about being who we are despite discrimination we face daily.
