A whole week is a bit long, and we shouldn't have NSFW-themed weeks. I think bikini is even against submission guidelines?? I think weekend (2/3 days) is quite long enough.

Hey, guys, you probably don't know me, but my name is Jesus_Milk, and I'm a flipper, just like you! I am going to make this meme to help support this. TammyFaye has stopped submitting memes because of all the memes of cleavage. As a boy myself, I am not offended by this, and neither are a lot of people. But I'm not a 14-year old teenager going through puberty. Even though this is supposed to be a fun meme website, all i see is 1 out of every 5 memes just being lady cleavage. Take MyMemesAreTerrible for an example. (Not hating on him, just an observation.) Look at his profile, and look at the most recent memes. Guarantee that more than half will be cleavage memes. I mean, shouldn't we be more mature than that? By the way, if you see this, MyMemesAreTerrible, PLEASE don't take this as hate on you, you do you. I'm just expressing my opinion. I patiently waited for cleavage week to end, and here we are 2 weeks later. Just so you know, I am NOT going to stop submitting like TammyFaye, I am just expressing my opinions on this. You can look at this meme to see Tammy's point of view. imgflip.com/i/1p55x7

I post in the theme weeks I like and ignore the ones I don't. I stayed away from Cleavage week and Bikini week and several others. But I'm not about to ask others not to enjoy posting in themes they like. That is rather rude in my opinion.

Just like I said, you do you. I'm not trying to stop the week or anything, I am just expressing my opinions about it. I am sorry if you found this rude, but I was just saying what I thought.

Believe me, I don't understand the fascination with women's bodies on sites like this when you can view all the porn you want elsewhere. But its the act of asking for it to stop seems wrong to me as would asking people to stop making political memes. I don't like them, I don't make them, but they have the right to make them and I have the right to downvote them when I think they go too far. (And yes, I downvote both sides if I feel they are being overly obnoxious)
1 up, 8y
But the thing is, I never said I wanted it to stop. I simply stated my opinion that I think that we are a little more mature than that, political memes are way different than porn memes, trust me. I just thought that maybe it should stop, so I said what I thought.

Screw that! I have had it up to here with people who think they have a Constitutional right to never be offended. Hint: it doesn't exist.

I never said that, I'm not even offended. People are really mixing up my message. It's just my opinion. We're a bit more mature than that. Please don't take this the wrong way.

No. <facepalm> I wasn't talking about YOU being offended, I was talking about changing behaviour (even tho I never posted a clevage pic) because Tammy whoever is offended.
I will not kowtow to "offended" people, ever.

Yes, as a matter of fact I do have the constitutional right to be offended. But if you would have read what is really going on you might understand. If I see a meme that offends me, I scroll on. Simple as that. If I see a ton of memes that offend me, then I step away for a while until it passes. If IMGFLIP continues to not serve what I want in meme life then I move on. I will NEVER say, "You're meme offends me, please change your behavior".

It's like a radio station, if a song comes on that you don't like what do you do? Change the station or turn it off for 3 minutes right? That's all I'm doing.

Try "reading comprehension" I said you don't have the Constitutional Right to never be offended, not you don't have the Constitutional right to be offended. This means if you are offended, tough luck. Learn to live with your disagreement like an adult and don't expect others to change their behavior because of your perceptions or expect someone to provide a safe space where you won't be offended.
And If you had read further, you wouldn't be admonishing me for chastising your behaviour, which I didn't. I was chastising the OP for his "you should change, because tammy is offended" spiel. And BTW, your actual response seems adult and resonable, but the OP's based on your perceived offense, does not.

Seems adult? Gee thanks. :)

I am not asking IMGFLIP to be a safe place. I am not asking anything. I have made a lot of friends here and was merely explaining why they won't be seeing TammyFaye memes on a regular basis.

The OP and mine are not exactly the same, I get that. But you're the one that called me out as 'offended'. Just explaining my point of view. You're explaining yours. Neither of us are wrong.

I'm just a gun totin' southern gal that finds other things to do besides scrolling thru booby gifs! heehee! Thanks for a civil discussion.

You're correct. Theme weeks got way out of hand, especially with the NSFW themes. Ya want porn, just google it. You'll get a lot better selection than here. The reason they were so offensive was that instead of real entertainment, they only chose to titillate. The only thing I could do with those NSFW themes was lead by example. Yoga Pants week? I found a pic of Yogi Bear for a meme, and since they all wanted to see an ass in yoga pants, I posted a donkey in blue jeans. (Made page one with that, but Yogi only got to page two) Cleavage week? I took a similar stance. Bikini Week? One post that, while not page one, did well.

Some themes were rather good. Lego week was a blast because we could do so much with that. Some just used the step on a Lego routine, over and over, but others really got creative, or, in my case, just found a logical way to caption a Lego picture and it went to page one. The NSFW themes, though, pushed the themes that were meant to include everyone out of the picture. The Monty Python 1/2 week was fun, and a few others. But when you have four or five themes going at once...

we need a break.

I kinda had me a little fun with the Yoga Pants and the Cleavage weeks (although I kinda jumped the gun on the cleavage week) .... and got some funny reactions on it. On a relatively rare occasion, someone will leave themselves wide open to a snappy comeback meme and I'll milk it for all it's worth.

.. as for multiple themes during the week, I just go with the ones I can relate to, and just enjoy or ignore the rest, depending. I've been taking a bit of a break from here, but mainly 'cause I've been digging up some new ideas for future use :-)

..in the meantime... enjoy :-) and cheers :-)

I know. There's a time and place for everything though. Believe me, I'm no prude. This is basically a humor site. If I knew it wouldn't be a major TOS violation, I'd post bare breasts every day, but there would be a punchline to laugh at in each post. Except during breast cancer awareness month. This video would be considered NSFW here but it is a PSA I did a few years ago about supporting breast cancer research. https://youtu.be/Gykkw45285s When I made a donation to one of the groups involved in research, I put on my gruff guy personae and said I support the research because I like boobs.

back to my point, though, I don't mind it if there's a punch line associated. right now, though, because of the NSFW themes, they turned into nothing more than little boys showing off what they could swipe from their dad's porn collection.

Liked your memes, BTW. The boob car? I animated that years ago. Picture nipples replacing the headlights

hoo, boy, I'll be stuck with that picture for awhile (lol!) Your memes are a lot of fun too :-) I do get serious sometimes ... homelessness is a real sticking point for me .. I have been homeless myself ... jeez, there's homeless people in my wee town and there's just no excuse for it, except, as a poet friend of mine said, it's no longer a social issue but a business, and Canada is full of poverty pimps who are getting fat and sassy off of innocent peoples' misery. I would post far more of them, but I do keep in mind that first and foremost, this site is for having fun and sharing humour. I often use this site to make private memes offline regarding social issues then fire them off to local politicians to make my point, and I am very active in this regard.

Thank you for the feedback on my memes :-) have a good one :-)

Homeless? summer before last I was sleeping in a warehouse store room. It took me three months to find a real place that I could afford. Fortunately, I didn't have to resort to sleeping on the street or in the car. but I know many that have. Funny, as I helped to set up the Habitat for Humanity program here about 30 years ago.

wow, that's rough .. affordability was an issue for me when I was still in the city, so I got out and moved back to my old home town and found a place I could afford almost immediately .. stroke of sheer luck there. I know too many people that have had to go through it .. one in this country is too many, IMO. And so, I actively lobby .. and will continue to do so until whenever. In the meantime, I've got to come up with some ideas for some new memes :-P ... I'm glad that you were able to solve your housing dilemmas .. always am when a good person can have that most basic of needs fulfilled. I will continue to be the squeaky wheel -- since I am now retired, I'll have a lot more time :-) and I still have a big mouth -- I intend to use it :-D

I've thought about the housing locally. We have too many slumlords here that basically ignore the housing codes. One landlord finally had the book thrown at him for one of his substandard houses. I don't recall the term, but basically, the house was still his, but the court hired a contractor to bring it up to code and not worry about the cost. The contractor could then send the bill to the court, and the slumlord would be responsible for paying it. Until such time, the contractor was at liberty to rent the place out and collect the rents received as part of the payment. Oh, and there was interest on that contractor bill. If I had the capital, I'd be working on a different method of low cost housing. But, unless I win the lottery, that ain't gonna happen.

ditto ... but maybe, just maybe, people will eventually wake up and do like the Brits did when Margaret Thatcher tried to bring in the Poll Tax (1991) ..... one can hope .... in the meantime, keep on memin' Swiggy :-) I sure enjoy them :-)

You're just right. There's a time and place for everything. Like I said, I'm not trying to completely stop it, I'm just saying we should be more mature than that. And you're also right about the week overall. Lego week, Chuck Norris week, Bob Ross week, those were all really fun. But Yoga Pants, Cleavage, and Bikinis? That's not cool. Those aren't really fun. they just post saying "Look, REALLY TIGHT BIKINIS, Now upvote it!" With no punchline whatsoever are super lame. MyMemesAreTerrible posted 3 gifs of a women yesterday who was just dancing in a bikini. There's no punchline, he's just trying to make it sexy. It's getting old.

I saw that. The girl was pretty, but not worth an upvote. It was more on line with what we posted in ABPEAG. The thing is, that was an adult news group. Still, a lit of those gifs were humorous.

'I like what you're sayin' Jesus, and Imma let you finish.. But Bob Ross week was the greatest theme week of all time..'

Where the heck is everyone deciding the 'themes' anyhow - some reddit page or something? imgflip should just have it's own forums..

What's wrong about themed weeks? It just shows the true mind of people, also on this site, it's better than: <meme> "YOU WANT THE TRUTH? YOU CAN'T HANDLE THE TRUTH". This site, too, is a mirror of the present state of the world, so I scroll through it adn simply shake my head, if appropriate, and draw my personal conclusions.

I don't have a problem with cleavage or theme weeks....but... I have sort of drifted away and returned, and frankly, the memes kinda suck. Granted, the "latest" ones are even weaker. There just seems to be a lack of creativity going on. Precious few are poignant, and even fewer are funny. That said, I can understand where people might object to users going overboard on theme weeks, even cleavage (where is that Luke Skywalker - Noooo! meme when I need it?). For a theme week to work, it needs to be infrequent. To see less cleavage on Imgflip, I need to be shown more in my life. Hey, can't blame a guy for tryin'!
