We're united because we have an army that will force the 'independent' Federated Nations of North America to be so. Civil War? Lincoln? Ever consider the fact that maybe, just maybe, the South has a valid point? Not everything they say is wrong.

You're reading way too much into it. We're united under a common flag, currency, constitution and Declaration of Independence. We're not a bunch of diverse states that just happen to border each other (plus Alaska and Hawaii), thats what I'm referring to.

I'm not reading into it at all. The Federation of the United States of America predates your meme by almost a century and a half.

And yes, we are. Hence the fact that that we do have 50 clearly defined States with their own goverment.

Diversity doesn't even need to be acknowledged. We all know it's there. We don't go outside to acknowledge the sky everyday either, but it's still there. The only reason people bring it up is to say "look how racist you are" or "look how racist we're not"
