When I found that pic it literally almost made me fall out of my chair once I thought aliens lol. It's awesome that you came up with this out of it. That's why I love this site, the interaction with other creative people is beyond compare anywhere else online. This should definitely make front page!

I wanna say Socrates introduced me to Gimp a while back. Feeling the need to create a custom image for the joke or reply I wanted just kept eating away at me until I figured out how to make it happen. The program has so many features and I want to learn them all but I don't even know what most of it means lmao!

I remember when you started because I knew a ChumpChange on a game I used to play. I also didn't know a thing about photo shopping when I started here. Reallyitsjohn turned me on to png/transferable images and when I figured out that I could make the picture myself to go with the joke it blew my mind.

Anybody can learn how to make a picture, but having a creative mind to come up with what to make is another thing entirely. I'm glad you like it here as much as I do. I look forward to your comments and memes.

I truly enjoy watching how people like yourself improve constantly with their photo shopping. I will always remember how I felt when John told me about png's. If I can give somebody else that feeling how could I not share what I have learned?? You crack me up all the time and it always makes me glad that I was able to contribute something to your creativeness.

Thanks! I make all the Giorgio ones with Paint since there's no Png of only his head. The Captain Obvious one is bad because I want to include the hat, and if I included all of Giorgio's hair in that, it'd look weird. So basically, it just looks like he's bald lol.

Just go to toolpic.com, load the Giorgio head with the thumbs up next to it. Use the eraser to erase the hand and then click on edit, use free transform to rotate the head so it isn't sideways and save it. Then you will have a Giorgio head that is level without the hand saved ;)

You have the png of Giorgio's head with the thumbs up hand next to it don't ya? If you go to toolpic the front page says open image from computer as the second option. Choose that and it will load the head with the thumbs up png image. Then just erase and edit that like I mentioned above. Man I wish this site would load png images I'd just share what I got with ya :(

I have fun with it. Still not at a million but I'm starting to think of ideas for my selfie cause I'm getting close. I need to spread my wings a bit and get into the true customs like the movie posters or something. I'm still trying to wrap my head around how you all create them. Taking a couple of pics and manipulating them or combining them is one thing - creating something from scratch is another.

Even with the points I have, I still make memes that flop like everybody else. I never know what will do good. I'll spend hours making something and think, wow this will fly up front, then it gets 5 upvotes lol. Or I just put a funny phrase on a popular template in minutes and it makes the top of the front page for two days...

Nothing surprises me anymore I just have so much fun making stuff I can't let how it does bother me. I've had memes flop here that go viral on another site when somebody else shares it. One meme I made got 11 upvotes and a couple hundred views here. Then I saw that somebody had shared it on reddit and it had over 500 upvotes and 50,000 views there.

I guess my point is that just make whatever you like because you never really know what might take off here or somewhere else on the internet even. We are lucky to be part of a site that lets us get our ideas out there for the world to see. You'd be surprised where some of our memes end up, don't ever think that because you didn't get much attention on something that it isn't good. Timing has a lot to do with it and sometimes great memes don't get many upvotes. Your upvotes per view on this one are really good, it just might take off yet ;)

I'm probably the most active on Twitter cause I'll tweet stuff that isn't memes but most of what I do ends up on those sites. I don't ever browse them tho. I'm not a big social media person lol. I just wanna tell jokes and laugh with peeps!

Well, I submitted it this morning thinking it would take a few hours to feature. Knowing Monday mornings are busy for the working crew I thought by the time it did feature they would be breaking and memeing. Thing is it featured in like 15 minutes LOL! By the time anyone had time to see it, it was buried by other submissions.

We'll have to wait and see what happens, as usual. Just the way imgflip works lol

I am mainly just an imgflipper, I check out reddit sometimes but it's entirely too complicated and full of people that think they know everything to be much fun. It is however a great place for a meme to take off, but I've noticed it's usually when another person reposts something I made that it goes crazy viral. The community here is beyond compare, so this is what I consider my online home. I'm going to post a link to this meme on mine that's on the second page now. Maybe that will help this one get noticed more ;)

I appreciate it! I shared it out to those places I mentioned but I have few followers as it is cause I don't manage them properly. I just don't care enough. The idea was to get them out. I have no idea whether it even works or not. A couple likes and the rare retweet or whatever doesn't give me much info lol.

Like you I don't manage any other site or anything well enough for it to help me much here. When I had facebook I would post a meme there and maybe get a like on it lol. I simply spend all my time either photo shopping, making memes, or browsing memes to upvote and comment on. I don't have time to care about any other site lol.

And no problem, not sure how much good it will do but I'm sure if people like the cat in my meme they will surely click the link and come here. You are already doing good enough to be in the top ten pages of the hot stream so I bet it starts moving fast soon ;)

I didn't notice that. You're right. That isn't many views yet.

But the ratio of upvotes to views is very high, and should be high enough to get the meme into the top 10 pages of Hot, so that means at least it'll get seen. Hopefully it'll pick up more views and votes when people scroll through Hot.

True enough! It's always the view count that does me in. Like everyone else, I have nfc why some stuff works and why other stuff doesn't. I enjoy making images though. It used to be a chore but I've discovered a few techniques that make it much easier and less time consuming.
