Problem there lies in the fact that the only real reason Obama was elected is because he was black. It was implied that if anyone voted for the other candidate, they were racist because they didn't vote for the black guy. Which, considering the opposition was John McCain and Mitt Romney, consecutively, I doubt if either of them would have done much better as president.
I was working all day on Election Day and forgot to vote that night on my way home. Which, I guess I should have voted for the principle of the thing. But, I didn't support Trump and no way in HELL would I ever support Hillary. So, had I voted at all it would have been third-party. Regardless, now that it's said and done, Trump is the next president. Legally. No question of a miscount, no question of his eligibility to be president. Considerable question as to whether or not he'll be a good president, but...according to the constitutional election system, Trump is our new president. Protesting saying "not my president" is asinine. Because, he may not be the president you wanted. But, had I walked around saying "not my president" about Barack Obama, what would the reaction have been? The man stood for absolutely nothing that I stand for. Yet, in the eyes of the law he was president. So technically he was my president, in spite of the fact that I believe the man should be tried for treason at the first opportunity and should have been impeached and deposed. But, again, he was my and the entire US's president. Saying he wasn't won't make it so. Just like saying Donald Trump is not "your" president don't mean $&@#%. And had Hillary won, she would be (most unfortunately) the US president. And, unless there was evidence of a miscount or tampered election results, there wouldn't be much I could do about it.
So, protestors...stop blocking the damn streets. Those of us who have to work, need to get on with our lives. I don't the have time to sit in my car for 30 minutes while you traipse around blocking the street because you have a butthurt about the election results. I have a long drive to and from work, and I am generally very tired after my shift. Get the hell out of the way so I can get home without falling asleep at the wheel. Life. Goes. On.
