I would begin by telling you to actually become informed before you do anything.
The memes here overwhelmingly right wing and they're often full of sh*t and framed in a way that is misleading.
Consider the OP meme here.
1. "killing babies" -
Put right at the top of course. Literally nobody wants to kill babies. MAGA just frames it like that for emotional knee jerk responses. They often also frame it as Dems being "pro-abortion"..which nobody is.
2. "Defunding police."-
Virtually no police were defunded. Pretty sure they ended up getting even more money. The slogan was briefly a thing after Floyd got killed.
3. Gun control -
Most of America is in favor of gun control. The idea that any maniac should be able to get any kind of gun is dumb as f*ck.
4. "Open borders"-
This is a flat out f*ckin lie that MAGA repeats over and over again.
They try & support their lie by telling you 11 million illegal immigrants came into America while Biden was president. Their source? CBP data that says there were 11 million "border encounters" while Joe Biden was president.
What they won't tell you is that the "border encounters" statistic includes people who showed up at the border more than one time... And people who got returned / deported back. So if 1 person showed up at the border 10 times and and got deported every single time, that would count as 10 border encounters.
Also when people think about the phrase "open borders", they probably think people are just allowed to walk across the border & stay here. Meanwhile the reality is that Joe Biden deported a record number of undocumented immigrants. More than Trump did.
5. Illegal vs legal immigration-
Another f*ckin lie. Democrats aren't in favor of illegal immigration & Republicans aren't in favor of legal immigration.
Trump has restricted all forms of legal immigration during both of his terms as president. & 99.8% of the immigrants that trump did grant asylum to were white South Africans. Imagine if Obama had only let in black people... Repubs would've sh*t a brick.
6.Taxes-
Democrats do want to raise taxes...on the rich. This is the responsible thing to do in order to fund programs that directly help the poor, the disabled, and veterans.. things like foodstamps, etc.
Republicans want to lower taxes primarily for the rich and CUT programs for the poor. They will tell you dont worry, the money will trickle down to the poor in other ways. They've been saying that sh*t for decades and it hasn't.
