But I do have another question, back in the day there was high top marginal tax rates on the rich, when Richard Nixon was President, the top marginal tax rate was 70%. How come high taxes on the rich was feasible then but not now? Also which politicians created the tax loopholes in the first place?

It wasn’t feasible for that very reason. Wealthy taxpayers utilized passive real estate losses, oil depletion allowances, and complex tax shelters to drastically lower their taxable income. High nominal rates misallocated talent and capital into tax-shelter industries rather than productive business investments.

Close the loopholes, then.

Medicare is already available for elderly or disabled people, public kindergarten and K-12 is taxpayer funded childcare, full-time employees already have paid Family and Sick Leave, it's called FMLA or short-term / long-term disability (which covers post-labor recovery for both parents), there's already a universal job program at local libraries and using the internet, the rich are already taxed and the top 1% pays for 70% of the entire U.S. tax revenue.

The government has no authority to freeze rent, which means freezing rent market prices. The government is also mandated to protect our nation's borders, which is what the Immigration and Customs Enforcement does.
