No, just the citizens who acquired them legally, who are in the government's database.

Gun control means restricting access to semi and fully automatic guns with higher-round capacities.

I don't see why there's any reason an 18-year-old high schooler should be able to purchase an AR-15 for a few hundred dollars.

If they have a job, they pay taxes, and if they pay taxes, they should be able to buy a gun. It's taxation without representation otherwise.

I had a job at 14, I paid sales tax, should I have been able to buy a gun?

Yeah. If you're essentially paying for your right to live (which is an unhinged rant for another day), then it stands to reason that you should be able to exercise these rights.

In theory yes, but have you met a 14-year-old?

Also, if we go for a more extreme example, a 9-year-old who cuts people's grass, buys equipment, and pays sales tax should also be allowed to buy an AR-15.

I mean, maybe, but it's also worth mentioning that most 9-year-olds don't have the mental fortitude to save that much money. Like, the cheapest AR-15 I've ever seen was $600.

True, but there's still nothing stopping them.

I think an age limit is good for everyone.

On top of that, all forms of gun control are infringements on the Second Amendment. Perceived moral superiority is not grounds to take away the only thing keeping us from becoming a totalitarian dystopia. China, the United Kingdom, and virtually any country south of Mexico come to mind almost immediately.

Couldn't you consider age limits as infringing the 2nd amendment? I think guns are fine if they are in the hands of the right people, and too often, they are not.

& in this hypothetical situational dynamic narrative that has been conjured outta thin air,

...just who decides whom are "the right people",
"...if they are in the hands of the right people,..."

For another hypothetical dream narrative,
Let's just say for story sake: 99% of the youth playing violent first person shooter video game military training simulators,
...can handle the experience. 1% lose themselves into the game as if it were reality, then are
triggered to use this newly developed skill in the real world from muscle memory.

Are you willing to put restrictions on these alleged brainwashing devices,
that don't have an amendment specific to an infringement upon their use?

Video games aren't going to give anyone a "skill" capable of carrying out a SWAT mission.

Okay then.

& one hears NO ANSWER for WHO decides "the right people" in the fantasy narrative.
All this figures....

If anyone doesn't like the U.S. Constitution Bill of Rights, they can write a new amendment to change any amendment, and get it ratified by all 50 states...

That, or they are free to move to a country that is a better fit.
2 ups, 1mo
The answer to that problem is to ensure the right people have ready access to guns. Police can’t be everywhere at once, so citizens need to protect themselves.

So should a teenager be allowed to buy a bolt-action 30-06?

No, I was using AR-15s as an example, but I don't think any high schooler should be able to buy a gun.

I think if someone is old enough to be told to put on a uniform he is old enough to buy a gun.

I actually agree with that, but then we'd have to bring the drinking, and presidential age down too.

I don't think people should be drafted, but it concerns me that people at my school could buy guns.

You could theoretically solve this dilemma by not taxing people until they turn 21.

Yes but no.

People would abuse it by making their kids go into the store and buy groceries so that they don't have to pay taxes.

I already support it, you don't have to sell it to me further.

The age to vote for president is already 18 which was passed by constitutional amendment during the Vietnam War specifically because we were telling 18yo to go and fight but not letting them vote for the people who sent them. Drinking used to be that age also, and I’ve heard an argument that it might curb the problem of underage drinking.

I meant becoming president. The minimum age is currently 35.

Can you clarify about reducing underage drinking? I feel like if the minimum age is 18, people won't be as excited and think "It's cool to drink" because only older people do it.

Why does the rule about becoming president have to change? That seems like apples and oranges.

And as for the rest derange drinking, you clarified it yourself.

Why should someone be considered ineligible just because they aren't old enough?

My opinion is eccentric?

Someone else said children should be allowed to buy AR-15s...
