So... what's wrong with the economy?

The GDP grew at an amazing 4.9%. The unemployment rate is at a 3.9%. Crime has continued to drop at the same rate that started in the 80s.

Inflation is crushing the economic growth at 5% - Doesn't matter if you are working if your money is worthless, over all crime has dropped but hot spots like Portland, Chicago, LA, Philly and other cities have spiked. Making some cites not worth stepping foot in.

Inflation where I live is over 15% at minimum, but saying GDP "grew" at 4.9% is not an inflation-adjusted figure.

I was just using Whistle's own verbage. Inflation is crushing middleclass all across America. Saying anything is good or better now is basically a flat out lie.

This is only the start , it is gonna get a lot worse as the war machine turns. I wish America would stay out of wars on the other side of the world and try taking care of our selves for once.

IDK, Germany did it in 1940 and they were a helluva lot smaller than the usa. Also being part of the UN means that America doesn't have to do it alone, we just have to keep doing what we always do.. spending billions and arming every asshole nation that wants us too.

in the past year, the U.S. has "printed" over 6.5 trillion dollars. In case, you didn't study economics or finance, ONLY government can cause inflation in a free market.

Inflation refers to rising prices of goods and services. That's a function of Capitalism, basic supply and demand, NOT gov't.

I agree that inflation is a problem. I disagree that Biden and his economic policies are the source of this inflation.

Because if it were solely Biden, then the inflation would be largely, but not completely, isolated to the US. It's not. The markets across the world have been suffering under this inflation.

So what is the source?

Corporate greed. When the pandemic caused supply lines to tighten, they raised prices in response. Few goods means they can charge more with high demand. That's the free market.

But the supply lines have stabilized but inflation has not gone down.

Corporate profits continue to expand.

Employment is high. Wages are the roughly the same. So the costs are the same, yet prices continue to rise.

It's corporate greed.

I agree be mad about inflation. Just be mad at the right people.

I never said he was the cause of it, Government spending is out of control and that doesn't help anything. There are a ton of factors that are causing inflation across the board and greed is only part of it. I know many of my conservative brothers and sisters would disagree with this because of the idea of Captialism, but I believe capping profit margins would help with rising prices and fortify the strength of the dollar.

It's price gouging like he pointed out, and there are no intentions of bringing prices down as long as people are willing to pay them.

The dollar has already been stengthened thanks to raising key interest rates.
