thing is demonic. They are not
only ripping off well-meaning
(but uninformed) folks in the Church,
most often it is the poorest
Christians taken advantage of. Whether it’s Hindu gurus or
their counterparts, American
Word of Faith teachers,
the only difference is that
the latter just sprinkle Christianese
on the Hindu sales pitch.
Folks want to believe the man (or woman)
on television is going to help them
get out of their struggles,
(as he claims he will). Instead, just like the gurus in India, these guys are grabbing

Day after day, they get on television, claiming we can have a perfect life full of riches beyond our most ambitious dreams, just as the gurus in India promise Hindus. Both the Word of Faith people and Hindu gurus also promise perfect health. Still, the Church today is silent about these people in our midst. And what is the result? Second Peter tells us it brings the truth of Christianity into shameful disrepute. We must call a spade a spade! Peter speaks to us, the future Christian Church: "In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they made up. Then there's this important fact about the rock solid credibility of the Bible: Scripture was written over a period of 1500 years, through 40 generations, by 40 authors from every walk of life, including kings, peasants, philosophers, fisherman, poets, statesmen, etc. Before getting saved, I used to say the Bible was whipped up by men. But even on his best day, man could never put together something like the Bible. The writers didn't even know each other so how can critics claim they conspired? The diverse authors to the Bible were from all over the spectrum: Moses, was a political leader; Peter, a Fisherman; Amos, a herdsman; Joshua, a military general; Nehemiah, a cup bearer; Daniel, a prime minister; Luke, a doctor; Solomon, a King; Matthew, a tax collector; and Paul was a rabbi. Scripture was written in all kind of places: the wilderness, a dungeon, on a hillside, in a palace and a prison, while traveling, on the Island of Patmos by John, and during military campaigns. The last one of course was at a time of war but the Bible was also put down on paper in times of peace. So there were many different moods of the authors, from the heights of joy to the depths of despair and sorrow. On top of all that, Scripture was written on three continents (Asia, Africa and Europe) in three languages (Hebrew, Koine Greek, and a small part, Aramaic). With those aspects of the Bible in mind, here are the mind-blowers: Never once does the Bible contradict itself and it gives the same message throughout the Old and New Testament. So I'll say it again: Even on their best day, there's NO WAY mankind could ever whip up something like that. The Bible is
