IS "WORD OF FAITH," IN THE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, JUST HINDUISM? [1 of 4] Even a secular world can see Word of Faith preachers as the hucksters they are. Day after day, they get on television, claiming we can have a perfect life full of riches beyond our most ambitious dreams, just as the gurus in India promise Hindus. Both the Word of Faith people and Hindu gurus also promise perfect health. Still, the Church today is silent about these people in our midst. And what is the result? Second Peter tells us it brings the truth of Christianity into shameful disrepute. We must call a spade a spade! Peter speaks to us, the future Christian Church: "In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them and their destruction has not been sleeping.” In other words, we don't want to be around them when the hammer comes down.
