Well howdy there, Imgflip politic-ers, it's Socialism again and today's topic is the new Israel-Hamas conflict. | We can agree what Hamas did majorly blows nard, can we not? Which is why it sucks so much that despite their actions, they're actually only half the villain of the story. Yeah, I know... "WTF?! Are you out of your bleeping mind?!!" The answer is "Nope." And, unfortunately, as distasteful as it may be, by the time we're done here, you'll understand why Israel is the worse guy in the fight. 1 2 3 4; So in map 1, we see Palestine before the forced establishment of Israel. In map 2, we see how the land was divied up between Palestinians and Israelis. At this point in time, Palestinians were generally okay with it because the whole world was flabbergasted by the Holocaust. In map 3, we see how the Israelis pretty much immediately went into expansionist mode. In map 4, we see what remains of Palestine today and, if you look closely, you can see where Israel stole part of Syria to boot. But wait, it gets more sucky: Israel's process of pushing Palestinians off their own land frequently involves eviction via bulldozer and they've been doing it for decades. Imagine if Canada knocked on your door and said "This is our land now, eh. Bulldozer's coming up the lane, hoser."; You wouldn't put up with that, neither would the United States government --and there's no reason the Palestinians should either... unless you count a thousands of years old story about a beardy sky-daddy promising land to some guy's family in exchange for cutting off part of their junk as a valid claim to ownership. And when you couple rumors of violence, homicides committed by Israeli "settlers" against Palestinians with Israeli authorities stonewalling investigators, it doesn't exactly paint a pretty picture.
