I WAS SEEN AND TREATED WITHIN A COUPLE OF HOURS, KEPT UNTIL SUNDAY, GIVEN A CT SCAN, A CBC, COVID TESTS, EKG, MEDICATIONS, A PRIVATE ROOM AND SAW SEVERAL DOCTORS BEFORE MY DISCHARGE MONDAY... ...ALL THIS PAID FOR BY CANADIAN HEALTH INSURANCE, MY TAXES, MY NEIGHBOURS TAXES. THE EMTS THAT BROUGHT ME IN BY AMBULANCE EARN $53 000 A YEAR. THE NURSES EARN ROUGHLY $87 000 THE ATTENDING DOCTORS, $275 000 A YEAR. THE ONLY THING I HAVE TO PAY OUT OF POCKET IS THE AMBULANCE RIDE. EVERYTHING ELSE, PAID FOR IN ADVANCE. TELL ME AGAIN WHY SINGLE-PAYER PUBLIC HEALTH INSURANCE DOESN'T WORK.
