The Scripture shows that speaking in tongues, in no way, always occurs during biblical accounts of conversions.
There are plenty of conversions in the Bible where no one is speaking in tongues.
The Scripture certainly talks about speaking in tongues in places like Acts, chapter two.

If you read that in its context, the Bible tells us when the gift of tongues occurred.
In Acts two, and every other place it appears, it is ALWAYS IN KNOWN LANGUAGES and NEVER GIBBERISH like we see today.
In fact, gibberish is a practice in cults and the occult. So that’s concerning and some teaching about speaking in tongues has become unbiblical. Is speaking in tongues evidence of being baptized in the Holy Spirit?
And in the Bible, was it about talking gibberish? What does the Bible say?
Well, when do we receive the Holy Spirit of God? It's at the moment of salvation, right?
Does that have anything to do with speaking in tongues?
No, not at all. But some will even claim that we
show no evidence of being
baptized in the Holy Spirit if we don't speak in tongues.
